You may have to stop watching the show for a couple of years in that case.

This one in particular really annoyed me. It used to be that The Doctor had seen so much and was so open-minded to the universe that anything was possible so when he said "That's impossible!" it was a big deal. But during the later Tennant years I struggle to think of an episode where he didn't say it.

I think that's a big problem with the end of RTD era. Little phrases and quirks that Tennant did once then had to be done in every single episode. Almost as if the writers had a checklist of all the different Tennantisms they had to include....

That's Impossible!
Ooooooooh yes!

How could I forget those! Actually I didn't mind the What? What?! WHAT!? at first as it was a funny running gag but it soon outlived its welcome!

He probably doesn't say it as much as I think he does (I watched the first four series in between The End of Time and The Eleventh Hour) but the thing that drove me up the wall was when he went on about how brilliant humans are.

Don't forget "You're not going to die, I'm going to get you out of here".

Person dies 5 minutes later.

Possibly the greatest 70s Doctor Who spin-off we never had.

Actually the thing that bothers me about the ones I mentioned is not so much the repetition, as the thing I dislike the most about the show, and that is this self-aware, self-referential thing they do. They have to keep telling you how mad, impossible and wonderful the Doctor is. That scene in The 11th Hour where he's giving the speech and choosing the bow-tie, and there's the images of all the Doctors, and then he steps through the image as if to say "Ta-daaaa! Here's the new Doctor"- way too stagey and self-aware. I really don't like that stuff. All that tongue-in-cheek, self referential business. Can't stand it.

Come on, we jaded cynical types have to support each other.
"Oh, why can't you just accept it and enjoy the fun of it. Matt Smith is dreamy. Bow ties are cool!" etc

Err ...I would be, but I'm not Those things never really bothered me to be honest.

I did find Matt and James hard to take though - together, too much for five minutes, never mind forty.

Surely Who has always been self-referential? I really liked that theatricality when introducing Matt as the Doctor, thought it was very good in fact, showed respect to those who came before but rightly said here he is, he is The Doctor.

Anything you do like?

Not in the way it is now, I think. There was the WHO-1 license plate, but that was a blip. You didn't have people making quips about running down corridors, and talking about how mad, impossible and wonderful the Doctor is.

Let me think.....

I do like the stories of most episodes, which is the main thing, which is why I watch it. When its good, Its great. Its just these stylistic things ruin it a bit for me sometimes. I think its Joss Whedon's fault, from what I've heard.

I also hate the inside of the TARDIS, and the Cybermen.

She'd have had to start to retire - it does sound as if she had the smarts to realise she was terrible, though.
