Very entertaining, particularly the rant about aspirational TV and the comments about Billie Piper's face.

I'm one of the 7 people who liked Nathan Barley, though.

So that's you, me, Mrs_7, Ben at work, Charlie Brooker, Chris Morris (not certain he liked it), and either one or two others.

I didn't watch Screen Wipe (quite why I posted here, I can't imagine - to show off about having a girlfriend?), though the name sounds faintly rude.  Brooker said in the 'paper that each of the features on Billie Piper's face were competing to be the biggest.  I thought that was quite funny, though I hope he didn't recycle that unspectacular thought for the telly.

Yes, he did.
Congrats on the girlfriend though.

Yeah, he did. That's probably why I remembered it 'cos I'd already heard it.

But still.

Actually saw it on repeat today. The bit about the obstacles needed to overcome simply to film him falling off a log was great.

EDIT: Sweet, I just noticed I'd got my third star.

Back on to Screen Wipe, easily one of the funnest things on tv now.

Loved the bit about that anonying Frosties advert, watch the show before going to the cinema on Sat to see Stormbreaker and this advert came on and me and my mates were in hysterics, with everyone else looking around wondering what was so funny.

He kind of spoiled the start on day 5 of 24, by showing what happened, but the way he did it, it didn't bother me.

Edit: It's on Thursday 22.30-23.00, Early Friday Morning 02.00-02.30 and Friday Night 23.00-23.30

great show, really enjoyed it last week.
I'm also a fan of Nathan Barley but it took a second watch to get it properly.

This is great, but do the BBC have a limit on how much can be said? Sometimes Brooker says 'fucking,' but other times it comes out as '****ing,' or '____ing.'

Watched the show (well half of it) last night. Its actually good to see a programme that bad mouths other programmes and is usually spot on.

Hopefully the show will continue for a long time.

This really is about the best thing on TV at the moment.  On the evidence of this and the old TVGoHome website, Charlie Brooker should be given his own channel.  His Screen Burn book & Guardian Guide pages contain some of the best criticism of contemporary television anywhere I can think of.

I also loved Nathan Barley and was amazed at how many people either didn't get it or just didn't find it funny.  Even people who idolise Chris Morris seemed to struggle with it - it's something I'd love to see get a second series, but I doubt will.

It's good to see someone making this kind of television, and I hope he ( Charlie Brooker ) stays working in television for a long time.  Even the TV versions of TV Go Home and Unnovations, which were a bit patchy, contained some brilliantly funny scenes of the kind that just aren't on TV enough.

Does anyone remember when he used to write for PC Zone?

Yes, I was a big fan of his during the 'Zone' years. Some of his work caused quite a stir as I remember....he even got the magazine banned from the shelves one month after they published his "Cruelty Zoo" cartoon, which featured mocked up pictures of children mutilating animals in a variety of ways.

The prank phone calls he did for his tech support feature were also completely hilarious, I used to have them all on a CD but I lost it.

He and Paul Rose are the two most underrated comedy geniuses of computer game journalism.
