A little bit of a face lift for the listing this week...we have temporary lost Fiver (previous Five Life) so to compensate, I have now included Virgin 1 (who only occasionally show movies in between hours of Star Trek).

So this week's listing is now available on page one.

It is, my learned friend. The only reason I haven't put it up is that because of the continuous repeat screenings of movies by Film4 and ITV, I tend not to re-list if the film has been shown that same week. Otherwise the listing would be miles longer than it already is.

I am willing to alter this, if people desperately want it.

wrenster...always wondered, have you actually seen ALL the movies on here, cos that would be insane...especally that alot of them are crap...

richCie...now that would be telling...so I will tell.

It feels like I have seen every film, and over the years that I have been doing this job, (listen to me, calling it a job!) I have seen a large portion of the films that are shown, but like all these listings and reference books, I have a pretty good team who help me out.

I now have a huge database of reviews that I can pop in and use. This is how it works: I get the listings on a Friday morning, and so I go through all the films that are repeated, and I already have reviews for, I will then tag the films that I have seen and do instant reviews, but then I get to split the rest among the friends, firstly asking them if they have seen any, and if not, then we track them down and split watching them. It has got a lot easier of late as there are so many repeats, or the premieres, which are getting less, of films that I have caught somewhere along the line.

I couldn't do it without the gang of five who hide in the background, but they love it because they enjoy movies and some of them get to see films they would never even have thought about watching, so its educational for them. And if they are really bad, then we will all watch them and rip it apart.

And that's about it, so throughout the whole week, I get the brief reviews, or ask them for their comments and I have to do the tough job of transfering it for everyone to enjoy.

So a quick thanks to my gang (including the two lovely ladies, who have to put up with being given the horror films...hee, hee!) Thanks for doing such a good job and putting up with my mood swings when the deadlines aren't being met...and for making you watch Martin Lawrence movies.

ahh that explains it then, I was under the impression you just brought every film ever and forced yourself to watch each and every one of them every week before posting the list...
actually I really thought you just read reviews of the films you hadnt seen and kinda made up your impression

but yeh they generally show the same films every year, when it comes to Christmas each film thats shown has probably been on every christmas for the last 10 years, and keeping all your old reviews is obviously paramount to the success of your list.

Sorry. My mistake. I thought you put K19: The Widowmaker in at 9.00 on Film4 but it was on More4

Well it's a slow week in the cinema as we build up to the new Indy, but there's football galore on the TV, plus one of the strongest weeks for films on the box in ages.

A very odd one this. Josef Stalin was supposed to have spent his last days with an Australian woman, who gives birth to his son. I've been impressed with the past month or so, the Kubrick season on More4 a few weeks ago now a Bergman one on Film4. I'd like to see more of these, in particular Film4 doing another Jean-Pierre Melville season.

Thanks again Wrenster, I don't know what I'd do without this list now. There are lots of great films on Saturday and you're absolutely right about The Puffy Chair it was one of my favourite films the year it came out and hardly anybody has even heard of it.
