I love this one, have loved it ever since I was a kid, back then I watched it at least once a week. I've expressed my admiration many times on this forum whenever it came up in various threads, or the very slight buzz when it was finally released on dvd. I bought it the second it was available of course, and it's every bit as good as it ever was. (I still have my VHS though, that's a keeper) The effects by Richard Edlund, I think, then eye-popping, are now old-school charm instead. But the qualities of the movie, the funny, sharp script, the all around solid performances of the kids, the joy of seeing the classic monsters together (with a twist), the great music by Bruce Broughton, are irresistible.
