Impressive trailer. The first half was superbly put together, but the second half felt a bit slap-dash (with a weird choice of action shots). A tear nearly fell when the doors of the Fortress of Solitude opened and revealed Superman (and, of course - The line "You are my son"). Costner is always superb.

Hans Zimmer's score = Inspiring.

I was sceptical that anyone could beat the Donner/Brando Jor El dialogue;

Jor-El: Live as one of them, Kal-El, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. Always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son.

but things are looking promising!

Exactly my feelings.
Would've liked a better trailer-cut scene-intro into Zod.

I personally think the trailer was spot on. Showed enough to get fans excited but not enough to give away the whole plot of the Movie. Unlike the Iron Man 3 trailers which I think spunks the whole plot at you.

I like the idea of an uncorrupted Brainiac looking after security of the fortress. Afterall! who or what Kryptonian technology does look after that place hidden in the snow! what if it was stumbled on by someone!?. Someone could use the Fortress technology and security brain against supes in the future....

I refuse to watch this due to the lack of a certain score. It's NOT Superman without it.

Looks like they've traded the melancholic human drama of Superman Returns for lots of computer game action scenes. Thanks a fecking lot people. Thanks a fecking lot.

It's hard to tell if this is a serious comment or a piss take? But if you are being serious, that means you're suggesting there are only five real potrayals of Superman? The ones that feature the Williams theme. Fuck that noise.

If you won't watch this trailer then you won't understand why this looks to be the greatest Superman film of them all, Williams theme or not.

That looks very good. It promises to be a film that has a strong dilemma with a good story, but also being LOUD! I love it. There is a little glimpse of superman flying at the end of the trailer, i love that pose! Classic

Love Hans Zimmer's new score and can't wait to hear more of it. I was always going to be there on opening day, but this latest trailer just cemented it. Properly gave me goosebumps. And for those who were moaning about a new trailer spoiling too much stuff, I'd say this was just about right. It gave an extended look, without showing aboslutely everything. We still havn't even had a look at Clark Kent in reporter regalia and Warner Bros are also playing the money shots pretty close to their chests.
I'll be off to see Tony Stark's latest adventures next week, but I get the feeling it will be a mere appetizer for this. Am hoping for a ***** rating, and THE definative summer movie experience. Please don't let me down Mr Snyder...

You have to ask ?

Looks fun. Not sold on the music. Or most of the dialogue snippets they chose. But still, chopped together and I imagine the really choice tracks of music will be closely guarded.

I've just been doing a bit of frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer. Does anyone else think this looks like the final destruction of Krypton?

I'm totally sold on this trailer, Every year I always have a "If I only see one film this year it's going to be..." and Man of Steel is mine for this year.

Seen some comments stating that the effects still look unfinished, but I think they look pretty damn smart! But the moments that really sold me (like a lot of other people) were Costner's "Your ARE my son!" line and whilst I was never fully convinced of Cavill, the snippet of the scene when he's talking to Lois really stood out as him really owning the character. There's also a few flying shots where he really looks the part.

Snyder should work with Chris Nolan more often (I assume he's the one that slapped the slo mo machine controls out of his hand....)

Iím pretty sold on this trailer as well. Iíve been running it frame-by-frame and humming the John Williams soundtrack at the same time, and Iím pretty stoked. Iíve even taken to calling my dog Krypto. He doesnít get it yet, but eventuallyÖ.

The hard part about Superman so far hasnít really been the special effects or costume (although it isnít an easy one to deal with.) For me, the difficulties are in Clark Kent and Lois Lane. More often than not, Clark Kent comes across as a two-dimensional cartoon while Lois is a harpy rather than a strong-willed, intelligent woman. I have high hopes for the movie, despite showing a man who can fly apparently hitch-hiking through the Alaskan wilderness.

You canít really tell form the Youtube embeds. Go to Apple and download it in 1080p you clearly see it as the missiles approach Zod. Huge LexCorp logo ontop of a skyscraper with stars and stripes lettering.

So sadÖ just like me as I did the very same thing last night!

Exactly what I though. When you watch the trailer that all happens so fast I had no idea what it was at first. But I think that is the big boom too. And is that a ship escaping just before it goes up? Zod and co perhaps.

I would guess its at a stage in the movie where he hasnt figured that out about himself yet, maybe he has only realised his strength. Either that or he is choosing a different path at that time and hiding his abilities. I look forward to finding out.

Heís most likely on the run to hide from/deny who he isÖ flying or sprinting about the place at supersonic speeds would no doubt draw some attention.

Plus, until his likely training in the FoS we donít know if he possesses these powers (or to what degree at least) at that point in the trailer. Might only have increased strength.

Nahhhh!. Do you really think they will have the whole 10 year FOS training thing? At what point does Kal reach maturity and stop aging? suppose they could. I wasn't too impressed with him straining holding up that bit of oil rig! should be a peice of piss surely?.
