 I have to admit, the poster is the first shot I've seen where Cavill actually looks like Superman to me.

After seeing the CC leaked trailer I have mixed feelings. On the one hand some of the shots look outstanding with hints at some really iconic images which got me all tingly. However unlike the majority on here I am not at all happy about Nolan's involvement in this. Superman is a very different kind of superhero (the clue is in the name) so I really don't want some maudlin rehash of Batrnan Begins. A Superman film should not be depressing. Sure I can handle of bit of darkness\grittyness but they have to get the tone\level right. I'm all for proper character development buy they better leave room for some proper kick ass Supes action. If they overdo it and turn this into another "hero angst soap opera" movie, I won't be happy.

And Nolan recently said in an interview that Superman is a very different hero from Batman so Man of Steel can't just be a re-hash of Batman Begins.

I know that but it's been mentioned many times on this thread that Nolan is quite heavily involved which most are seeing as a good thing whereas I am not so sure. The teaser gives off a very Nolan-esque Batman Begins vibe to me. I don't mind a bit of Nolan's influence as his character work is top notch but hopefully Nolan won't totally dominate the relationship and they'll be able to combine best talents of Nolan (emotion\character) with Snyder (kick a*se visuals\action) in the right ratio, I just don't want it to end up as a bit of a snore fest or be so so obsessed with dark, gritty overtones, as Nolan is want to do, that it ends up not being a Superman movie. Clark moodily contemplating his existence\the meaning of life\his navel for 3/4 of the movie is NOT what I want to see.

It's probably his family suit of armour sent with him by Jor El, judging by the shots we've seen of Crowe. And on Krypton they do not have the powers they do on Earth, so would need protection. In all likelihood he wears it to feel connected to and pay respect to his ancestry, not for physical protection.

I think it’s supposed to be a Kryptonian transmission that has been decoded by humans.
 
Depending on the actual means of Krypton’s destruction in MoS, it could be a warning. It might not be their sun going into super nova that kills them off in this take on Superman.  And whatever has ended them may also have eyes on Earth.

taken down already, it was an awful cam job. I'm sure the full HD trailer will be out before the end of the week, after all they are not going to put a count down for a trailer that will only appear before the Hobbit?!
