I couldn't agree more on Prometheus front! It wasn't going to be better than Alien/s either way, and it definitely deserved the SFX BAFTA!

Light or Gothic, make a choice ;)

 I'd go even further than that and say that Die Hard 4.0 is the best of the Die Hard movies so far...

Also, yes, Prometheus is a brilliant film, and I can't understand the negativity it got, either.

Is it called the Harder Cut? I've been wanting to get it for ages but don't know what to search for on amazon. What rating is it, 4.0 was 15 in Ireland so is the harder cut 18? Is this it?

 It's no joke...

The first movie is a very good film, but one that I only watch if I can't find anything else worth watching. Still... a masterpiece next to most other 80's action films.
The second movie is just an awful remake of the first film, where I didn't care about anything, and actually found myself bored through most of it.
The third movie is a massive improvement on the second, but Jeremy Irons is crap, and I'd only watch it again if I were pushed into it.

But the fourth movie, at any time I can crack open a beer and watch Bruce Willis have the shit kicked out of him by Maggie Q. Or a police car kill a helicopter. And what's more it features a story in which I cared about the stakes for the first time since the first movie, and doesn't feature a single shitty German accent. It's not a fantastic movie, by any means, but as an action movie it's a great diversion... and I don't care how much of the word "motherfucker" he's allowed to say.

I know that this is not the generally accepted order of things, but that's why it's in the Unpopular Opinions thread. If you don't want to read an unpopular opinion, don't click.

 Die Hard 4.0 has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It's not Die Hard, it's a DTV Steven Seagal flick starring Bruce Willis instead. Just annoying brainless garbage made by hacks.

I'll side with AxlReznor and say DH 4.0 is the best of the franchise; I'll even go so far as to say I don't care about the new film and won't be seeing it.

Other opinions on offer:

-Competing films with the same theme which are released around the same time is something I wouldn't complain about; its refreshing for me to have studios jostling for our dollars.

-Much as I think Michael Bay is a bloody twat, I like Armageddon a lot - its hilarious entertainment.

-I think Sean Connery is adequate as James Bond (Goldfinger is way over-rated).

-The best M:I film is Ghost Protocol.

-Batman & Robin is hilarious on a "Don't-take-it-seriously" level.

-I liked I am Number Four, and I wished The Lorien Legacies were turned into a franchise (are there plans for this?).

 Didn't "get it" is not a derogatory remark. Just a term that's used for people who don't like a film that a lot of people love. I'm pretty sure no one's suggesting that you didn't understand the film, just that you didn't "get" the appeal.
