There Will Be Blood is dull. Pretty, but dull.

I'm kind of with you. Kind of. The cinematography is beautiful and Day Lewis is excellent, but I wasn't bowled over by it story-wise; I never felt particularly involved. I've been trying to reserve full judgement until I see it for a second time because I feel there must be something I missed.

I personally think Jones is the only bad thing in the movie. Everything else is perfectly fine, but probably suffers due to Jones' miscasting.

I dont really get the fuss about Jones casting in X3.The character ( in the film anyway ) is just a random thug.Vinnie Jones seems perfectly cast here! Besides, the role isnt really that big, just appearing in a few action scenes.

X3 is the best in the series in my opinion. The fact that main characters were dying meant no one was safe.In the other films, there is no doubt that the whole team would survive.

Then surely they should've cast Daniel Craig!

Total Recall 2012 was a good remake of the 1990 movie. It is also a good sci fi action chase movie in it's own right. It could have done with 3 (or at least 2) better leads, as Farrell and Biel were particularly bland (and i don't mind Farrell usually).

Len Wiseman is NOT a terrible director.

I didn't hate the remake, I just thought it was so shallow compared to the Verhoeven version. There were some nice ideas and I liked the cast, but there was none of the charm, heart or - most importantly - fun of the original.

I should add, i'm talking about the extended directors cut on the blu ray, it is vastly superior to the theatrical release.

I agree that the fun aspect is missing though, Farrell's character has no humour whatsoever

Well he may have a great film in him, but if he continues on his current path, it'll just be solid enough mainstream movies. He certainly hasn't made a terrible movie yet but he's very good with what he has to work with.

I fell asleep in it.

Really tried to keep awake, but I found it boring and it tried too hard to tie it together with the previous version with similar or identical jokes.

Well The Mummy 1999 is certainly one of my favourite adventure movies. I'd be very excited to see a Wiseman directed reboot. The original Mummy movie is awesome too!

The Mummy 1999 is awesome and should never be compared to the likes of Len Wiseman. It's just awesome. The sequel though....

I thought it was ace. It was like watching a mash up of a few other sci-fi films, I wasn't keen at first but by the end I was well into it.

John Carter is certainly a lot more fun than it's given credit for. Wouldn't call it awesome, though.

I love Deep Rising too. I don't even hate Godzilla. It's Van Helsing where the divorce happened.

For a second I thought Godzilla was done by Sommers and not Emmerich and typed that. To my defense, both men could have done it with the same results.
