If they kept the central teleportation concept and Jamie Bell's character and then buried absolutely everything else in a shallow grave in the desert, I'm there on opening night.

It would have been cooler if it had been more self-contained and not another would-be franchise-generator that wasn't which presumptuously assumed sequels which will never be made and deservedly so cos - hey! - the first one was so annoyingly bloody inconclusive. Talk about self-fulfilling apathy - D'OH!

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but my unpopular opinion is about the new Nolan Batman movies.....well I think they are a bit crap actually.

The first hour of of Batman Begins is pretty decent but it then rapidly deteriorates into a very average to movie with the climax being VERY anti-climatic. TDK was also decidedly meh apart from Heath Ledgers performance which was pretty decent but not legendary as is often quoted, I fear his sad and untimely demise and the subsequent outpouring of sympathy has added more weight to his performance than the performance itself. Oh and Nolan is incapable of directing a decent action scene, there I've said it. Without fail, almost all of the action scenes in both the first two films seem flat and lifeless. In fact I was so non-plussed by the first two that I haven't even bothered to watch TDKR and I am constantly surprised that the majority seem to think this new Batman Trilogy is like the second coming or something, I'd genuinely say the first two are 3 star movies.

I would argue against everything you have said (though I do feel TDK is a tad overrated by some) but I'll be feeling like I'll be going round in circles.

Hope not as all that has been covered in some depth many times. I think even the biggest fans would admit that the films are a bit overrated just because that is kind of the nature of the beast in a way.

I'm still devastated that Al Pacino did it.

I think Homeland is one of the worst series I've ever seen.

Finding out that Mandy Patinkin is from the Princess Bride does nothing to redeem it (although I've always held the belief that Criminal Minds was at its best when he was in it - I still think it's pretty crap in general).

I've also never got the furore surrounding the Walking Dead series or graphic novels. Very, very obvious writing.

Yup, I think Homeland is horribly overrated. All that "Is he or isn't he?" stuff in the first series just got on my nerves after a while. He is a terrorist! He isn't a terrorist! He is a... You know what? I don't care any more.

The Walking Dead was another Heroes. It started well enough but the second series just seemed to tail off and I soon lost interest. Plus it wasn't anything we hadn't seen a gazillion times before. The most interesting thing about The Walking Dead was that the stuff of 80s "video nasties" is now the stuff of prime time TV. That and Egg from This Life being the unlikeliest badass this side of Bryan Cranston!

yeah, Heroes suffered from Peter Pitrelli being really f*ing annoying.

Lost is another one I gave up on. When I realised that there was just endless back-stories and found out they didn't have an ending, I stopped. Think I saw to the end of season 2.

My apologies.

Have been watching Finding Nemo a hell of a lot lately (I have a 2 year old daughter) and Marlon is a bit of a self-centred prick. Not very nice to Dory at all.

Considering the amount of utterly pointless gobshite that's usually spouted in this thread I'm sure the mods will give them a pass.

Prometheus is an awesome film, and seeing it at the pictures in 3D made for probably the best cinematic experience I've had.

Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is no way as bad as its reputation suggests, the classic feel of the original trilogy was retained perfectly.

Step Brothers is the funniest Will Ferrell movie in terms of number of laughs by a distance.

David Lynch's best film is Lost Highway, it amazes me how under the radar it is.

Nicolas Cage makes anything watchable.

The Hidden Fortress is superior to Star Wars, Toshiro Mifune is the man and an amazing screen presence.

I enjoy seeing Tarantino act.

Tarantino's good at acting, the little of it he does. I've never understood why people think he's shit. The small print that comes with disliking his films seems to say you also have to hate anything and everything about him.

I have no problem with Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.

Sometimes historical accuracy DOES get in the way of a good story (Gladiator).

There ain't no epic like a Biblical epic. With Charlton Heston.

Don't know if it's unpopular or not, but I really, really didn't like Magnolia. Detested it in fact.

Also thought the Thin Red Line remake was boring
