The Lord Of The Rings films are the best films I've ever seen. Marlon Brando was very good in just 3 films - Guys & Dolls, A Streetcar Named Desire and On The Waterfront, and in the latter he gave the weakest of the main performances. Nosrefatu and Metropolis may be influential, but by God are they mindnumbing to watch. Monsters Inc is the best animated film of all time. Followed by The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit. There is absolutely nothing wrong in liking films such as Van Helsing, Pearl harbor, Gigli, Hide Seek, Pluto Nash and The Pacifier etc No film should be considered so great that it's "a crime", "unthinkable" or "just plain wrong" to see it remade. Remakes are fair game. The Aviator is the best of Martin Scorcese's many great films. The Shining is by far the worst film by Stanley Kubrick. Vertigo is a good film, but is probably the weakest of Hitchcocks major films. As great as Chaplin was, Laurel & Hardy films are so much better. They are also far better than the Marx Brothers. Humphey Bogart did deserve his Oscar for The African Queen. Marlon Brando didn't deserve his Oscar for The Godfather. Batman Returns is better than Batman, Alien is better than Aliens, and both Terminator 3 and The Godfather 3 are the most entertaining of their respective trilogies. There are probably many more, but that will do for now.
