Top right for me as well.

Any hints on how to get the missus to agree to me having more?

I tried that but she couldn't find them as there was too much of my dignity in there as well

Some of you tattoo fans may have already seen this, but if not feast your eyes on this work of genius from Georgian artist Dimitry Samohin

Nice idea Ben, I got one done for my dad recently as well although not quite as cool.

Top right is definitely my favourite from that bunch and on the forearm would be perfect as long as you don't have to worry about hiding it for work or anything.

Yeah, pretty sure if my dad was still around he'd not be impressed by the idea. The consensus of opinion seams to be top right. I'll use that as the base for my next design. Now I was concerned about using colour, especially red, due to the possibilty of fading. I can't make my mind up.

It's a Harry Potter quote, if I remember correctly. And that's why doubtlesswonder is so cool.

Cool tattoo, Doubtless Wonder. I really like the font of it.

I would love a tattoo. My problem is I'm far too indecisive and fickle, I know that even if I found a design I loved and really wanted, six months down the line I would not like it anymore and want to get rid of it. Unfortunately they're a tad too permanent for the likes of me.

Same here. With midlife crisis I seriously considered the Iron Fist one I mentioned a few pages ago. As with boba though I would regret it. Also I would need better guns as I am packing a bb gun when a Kalashnikoff is required (in that I would want it on an arm).

Put the spanner on hold as I can't come up with a design I am completely happy with.

Took the plunge though and went with this instead.

Smothered in Bepanthen at the moment as it was done yesterday.

When I went for mine I was going to get mine on my upper arm but the tattooist told me my arms were too weedy.

I have an idea for a tattoo but need some help with it. Basically I want the quote 'Rise and rise again until lambs become lions' but translated into latin on my left shoulder. The problem I have is a) I have no idea how to get it translated (google search threw many different possibilities) b) how to present it; on a scroll, just into some fancy script? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Surge, et donec resurgeret, agnos et leones fiunt

I've just run this through 3 websites and 2 phone apps and got the same translation.
My opinion, don't go with the scroll

Close, but I'd go with "Surge et resurge dum agni leones fiant" - dum takes the subjunctive when it means "until", therefore "fiant".  "Surge et resurge" - both present imperative tense.

This is the start of my Japanese backpiece cover-up done by one of the leading Japanese tattoo artists, Chris Crooks at White Dragon Tattoo who has studied and worked with the master himself, Shige.  I've another 2 sessions booked in so it should be finished in February.  I'm already thinking of the next designs on an arm sleeve and leg to continue the theme through.

I absolutely love it.  A HUGE THANK YOU to Sharkboy for my wonderful Christmas/Birthday present

I'm beginning to feel the tattoo itch again. It's been almost six years since I got my stars on my foot and I always promised myself I would get another one.

Problem is, I don't know what to go for. I would like something on my wrist and for a while I've been thinking of getting johnpaulgeorge+ringo round one wrist. I just don't know if I'm ok with getting a tattoo in such a prominent place. Thats the only one I can think of.

There is a tattoo place at the bottom of my road which looks quite legit and cool. How do you go about finding out how good an artist is?

Also TK, your backpiece is absolutely gorgeous. I am in love with it. Cannot wait to see the finished thing!

Steff, the best way to check out the quality of an artist is to see their custom work.  Most artists can handle a bit of flash off the wall, but it's original work that sorts the sheep from the goats in the tattoo world.  Google the shop and the artist's name to see what the feedback is like, ask to see their portfolio, including their drawings.  There are a few good forums out there too - tattoo.tv is one of the best, big tattoo planet is good too - so don't be afraid to join and ask for recommendations in your area.  You're in Essex now, right?  'Cause there are some shit-hot artists working there - what's the shop called?

It's called Marnies, here is their website http://marniesink.co.uk/

Obviously if its just the wrist thing I'm going for then it won't need a proper amazing artist, I would just like to know that the guy whos doing it knows what hes doing! My last tattoo I got in Terry's in Glasgow which is pretty famous and I knew there wasn't going to be any problems in there, but I have no idea about tattoo places in Essex so your suggestions would help Sharky!

Actually, the tattoos on that page look pretty awful. Don't think I'll go there!
