Not sure if this ad counts as I saw it on youtube but, since I wouldn't be surprised to see it appear on TV in the near future, I present to you Nintendo's latest ham-fisted attempt to appeal to the non-gamer market starring Kim Cattrall:

I should add that I don't have a problem with Kim Cattrall advertising video games. I don't buy in to the idea that gaming is an exclusive pastime only to be enjoyed by us hardcore geeks. It's just that the whole thing is so cringeworthy, who on earth thought it would be a good idea to tie her character/persona from Sex and the City to Mario? "I've found a new man in my life, he loves to dress up" yeesh

 The Rubicon Mango juice advert. I am cheddar and it grates upon me.

It is not a bad advert but that silly dancing and the irritating song just make me want to break something.

I think that the Go Compare man will be gone by this time next week.

There have been pics of "defaced" go compare billboards posted on a few websites about the place and the countdown ads that are popping up now and again.

I've only seen one (the one with Sue Barker) but I think it's a pretty smart advertising myself. For the last couple of years the sheer amount of these crappy ads were as if they didn't know how terrible they were; but now to turn him into a literal target for snipers (who are actually 'nice' celebs - if that's the way they're going), at least shows they can self-deprecate. Maybe it's just the fact that they paid for a better ad company - who knows.

 The National Lottery one where the mother of some Olympian is going on about wishing she had been one herself. It makes it sound like she has pushed her daughter into it and as making her compete like the parent of child actors.

In fact all the mother of Olympian adverts.

 Radio has the worst adverts. I listen to Talk Sport and every commercial, no matter what the product, has some tenuous sporting reference shoe-horned in and some cheering fans in the background.

Take this masterpiece of an opening monologue:

"Bratovich, our new star striker. Transfer negotiations went right down to the wire. But our lads had 'eFax', so no paper jams. GET IN!!" fans cheer

Or this one from a few years ago:

"He steps up to the ball. Takes his time and.... Oh, he's missed!!"
"Whatever you miss, make sure you don't miss the great offers at Palletways palletised freight distribution."

The repetition of these burns them into your memory.


With regards to tv, the cereal one with Chris Hoy was fucking dreadful. "On yer bike."

How we lolled as we drowned the kittens.

All perfume adverts!!! How do you advertise a smell?! They are basically saying "if you wear this you'll be beautiful and mysterious just like this actor/model". Bollocks! And to think, some douchebag 'creative' gets paid more than my annual wage to come up with one idea!

The latest ad to annoy me is the Virgin Media one with David Tennant saying that if your on Virgin Broadband, you won't experience any buffering or freezing. Well I'm on Virgin Broadband and I still get these problems.

This week I saw the new? VO5 advert, the one with young lady demonstrating how to achieve certain hair styles, interspersed by said young lady singing. That's quite annoying.

I'm sure that this has been brought up before, but those relentless daytime ads for getting back your PPI insurance...

What really pisses me off is that these cunts are calling me at home, not only on my landline, but also my mobile at least once a day! I work a lot of nights and can't turn my phones off because I have a very close relative who is pretty much on their way out. When I get these calls, I always let loose a torrent of abuse... but the calls keep coming.

Sorry if I got off-topic a bit there, but whenever I see one of those ads...
