The Living Daylights. hands down, best. bond. ever

I am surprised how many other people liek Dalton and Daylights, thought I was alone.

Also surprised at how few people have mentioned Daniel Craig bond movies?. Then again I shouldn't be, I would put him as worst bond/movies so far. Not seen the Skyfall but could never get with a Bond that looks like a boxers ballsack, amazing what a ripped body and blue trunks can do for a man.

This is my top 5 (before I see Skyfall)

1. From Russia With Love
2. Thunderball
3. Casino Royale
4. Doctor No
5. License to Kill

I hate Moore's Bond, his films are basically a 2 hour cringe for me. The best of his films IMO is The Spy Who Loved Me but it's pretty much ruined whenever Jaws, the most farcical character in the series since Sheriff Pepper, Baron Samedi or Nick Nack (there's a theme here), is on screen. Brosnan was a good Bond but I just don't think he got to appear in a really good film. Tomorrow Never Dies was alrightish but I find Goldeneye massively overrated and it's dated horribly. The less said about The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day the better. Conversely, Lazenby was a poor Bond but got to appear in one of the better films. On Her Majesty's Secret Service just missed out on my top 5.

Bonds in order of preference.

1. Sean Connery
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Daniel Craig
4. Pierce Brosnan
5. George Lazenby
6. Roger Moore

I rewatched Thunderball last night, the final underwater battle goes on a bit too long but otherwise it's a great film and Connery is the fucking man in it. Definitely his best performance in the role IMO.

Thats not really controversial.License To Kill is highly regarded by many.Quite alarming that you have a Craig Bond in your top five though

Close behind, GoldenEye, Casino Royale, and possibly Skyfall, but it's too soon to tell fairly.

Vadersville, I like that QoS is there. Brave choice. I'm really reassessing it post-SF.

It's no secret on the boards that I love QoS. I was underwhelmed after my frst cinema viewing, but subsequent re-watches on BluRay have really cemented it as one of my faves. I know a lot of people dont rate it as a stand alone Bond, and athough I prefer to watch it back to back with Casino Royale as a straight sequel, I think it has all the Bond elements and really does work as a one off too. I love how people seem to be reassesing it after Skyfall. I think watching all three of Craig's Bond films in a back to back session will be great.

What can I say, Rog was my first 007, just like Tom Baker was my first Doctor Who. so I'll always love 'em, no matter what comes after. And I still maintain that 'Spy' is the best Bond movie of all.

The Man With The Golden Gun has one of the best Bond moments and dialogue.Bond in his search for Scaramanga tracks down the man who supplies the assassin with his ammunition.Bond points a rifle at the mans groin and says..

'' Speak now or forever hold your piece ''

Roger Moore says in his autobiography it was one of the best lines he had during his reign as 007, courtesy of the late great writer Tom Mankiewicz.

That's about it really. Although I did enjoy Skyfall.

True. It has some great bits and pieces dotted throughout including that car jump and one of the best villains, but it just adds up to far less than the sum of its parts for me. Though I always enjoy watching it, I like all Bond films except Quantum Of Solace, and even that got a little better on second viewing.

Dr. No is my absolute favorite one. I saw it as a kid, and it defined for me what a Bond movie should be like. Second best would be Reborn (2011), I guess. :)

Sean Connery and Danie Craig - two favorites, in that order.

Box office wise, Skyfall is about to overtake Goldfinger at the box office...it has a chance of displacing Thunderball as the highest grossing Bond ever (adjusted and unadjusted).

I love The Spy Who Loved Me and You Only Live Twice. Very hard to make up my mind. But I like all the Bond movies, though I do admit to not being overly enthused by Quantum of Solace.
