I remember reading somewhere in an interview Ridley Scott did that he thought ''I liked it,it was a good shoot'em up but i wouldve redesigned the Alien''.Read into that what you will.

Did he not see the Alien Queen?

Stan Winston is the "ultimate bad ass"!

Thats an extension of a design already in place.

In the first Alien film, the life cycle of the creature is suppose to be pretty fast (notice how gray and slow it is at the end) - maybe only a day or so.

I suppose if Scott was coming from that viewpoint the creature may have evolved into something else over a three month period - the face hugger, chesterbuster and alien are all pretty distinct creatures.

And Empire read that quote out to Cameron in an interview and he agreed with the "shoot em' up" comment. Lets face it, with Aliens 50% of all games released nowerdays would look totally different (and exaggeration perhaps, but I'm sticking to it)

I'm glad Cameron didn't stray too far from the original design. It's iconic and an integral part of the franchise.

I mean, he could have ended up with something like this:

I didn't have a problem with the Newborn in principle. Some of the designs (mainly by genuis Aphex Twin video director Chris Cunningham) looked pretty neat. One of the main things was that the creature would have no eyes or nose. I felt those features really damaged the creature.

Some of Cunninghams influence is still there, but it was a combinaton of bad puppet, poor story and fundamental design flaws which did the Newborn in.

Is Cunningham's original concept art on the quadrilogy DVD? If so I'd love to see it. I'm also going to invest in that directors cut of Alien3 as you recommended in a previous thread.

Let's keep this on page one:

"Rise and shine sweethearts, another glorious day in the corps. A day in the marine corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every pay check a fortune, every formation a parade"

I LOVE THE CORPS!

I liked Carrie Henn's performance as Newt - very natural & believable for a child so young.

She's fucking awesome. Cameron really likes the strong female characters, doesn't he?
Btw, doesn't Vasquez (can't remember the name of the actress) also play Connor's stepmom in T2?

Jenette Goldstein does indeed play Janelle Voight, as well as the steerage mum telling her kids the bbedtime story as the Titanic sinks beneath them....
