How do you guys think you'll get on when Harry leaves to manage England at the end of next season?

That's one and a half seasons away. Why worry about it now?

By then we could have won the Champion's League and the Premiership and Mourinhio might want to join us.

AARON LENNON!!!

I thought Defoe's miss was going to be costly there.

About 3 weeks ago Spurs got booed off the pitch. Since then more fantastic results in Europe and we know its hard for teams in their first season in the CL to achieve both there and at home. Well done Spurs!

Referee has been so dodgy tonight. If I was paranoid I might suggest that FIFA have istructed all the referees to give English teams a hard time.

Jenas getting booked for getting injured and going off after half an hour?

Edit: Entertaining match but again I would have to say that was absolutely shocking refereeing.

Ref was bloody hopeless, but we topped the group and will hopefully miss the big boys in the first knockout round.

I'm really struggling to get a ticket for the 3rd round tie due to the heavy restrictions our club has placed on them. I'm hoping a season ticket friend comes through for me on Wednesday.

If she doesn't however, can I come and sit in the home end, I promise to hold my noise? Pretty please.

What an absolutely fantastic game of football and a great advert for the Premier League. I really enjoyed that even if I did watch most of it through the impending cloud of doom.

Yet again we can't keep a lead but I can't complain about the result that much (even if there was a hint of handball in Chelsea's equaliser). Great performances from all the Spurs players (except Keane who seemed to do nothing after he came on). Awesome save from Gomes for the penalty, even if he was silly enough to give it away.

We do need a better finisher though. A replacement for Keane in January is essential.

I missed the end of the game when Keane came on as had to leave for work just after the Chelsea goal, (or storm out the house in a mood after coceding such a poor goal) but i agree we need another forward. When Crouch came on for Defoe we had the most static frontline i've ever seen, looked like 2 statues up there. Crouch and Pav are good players but someone with a bit of pace/movement needs to be playing with/off them.

At least Van Der Vaart is to come back, have him and Defoe played together yet?

Good result today and something we really needed as we have to keep in touch of the Top 4. I didn't see all the match but I was really nervous at the end.

Great second goal and a beautiful bit of team play between Bale, Lennon and Van der Vaart.

I thought the ref\linesman made some poor decisions as both Kaboul's goal should have stood and Defoe shouldn't have been sent off in a million years. I wonder if he can appeal about the three match ban before the next game in 2 days time?

Only caught the second half but thought we were worth the win. Villa didn't offer much until near the end when they threw everything forward. Great to have VDV back. After Defoe's (harsh) red card it seems VDV and Defoe are destined not to be on the same pitch for any length of time.

and the officials were bloody hopeless, loads of wrong decisions made, the the commentator said he (the ref) was englands next big reffing hope after Howard Webb

Kaboul's goal definitely should have stood.  Glad it didn't though, as I had ten quid on Spurs 2-1 at 17/2, so thankyou to the combined efforts of the Spuds and the linesman for the 85 Christmas smackers plus my tenner back

On Defoe's sending-off, it's an impossible rule to enforce with any sort of consistency so while I can understand why it was given with the officials' single viewing and current interpretation of the rules, I'd be amazed if it wasn't overturned.

I'll be at that match so that should increase Charlton's chance's of causing the upset

Another good win today, with 10 man again! Just seen the goals and they are very similar, one from each winger down their repective flanks. Wish Lennon would attack the box like that more often.

So a ;lot of talk (by 'Arry) about bringing Beckham to Spurs. Apart from United I think we are the only other premiership team he might go to.

Personally I'm not sure we need him on the pitch, but it could be great to get him to give Lennon and Bale some tips on the training ground. He might be worth it just for that.

In other news, thanks to Villa we are going starting the New Year in 4th with no games in hand to take into account. It's a great start to the new year and I hope we build on it. A win vs Everton would be a good start and I'd be happy to take a point off United at home.

If we play anything like we have in our last five games you're going to do nothing short of murder us.

If Gareth Bale plays there is a very good chance he will terrorize Simon Francis so much that the latter will actually cry. Cry like a little girl in the middle of a football pitch, he's so terrible I could nutmeg him after twenty shots of sambuca I reckon.

What a disappointing result. Both teams played well and there were some cracking saves at both ends. Nothing I can really grumble about but with Chelsea, Arsenal and City's results going our way it is really a missed opportunity.

Well hopefully we can rest Bale and still hammer Charlton at the weekend before taking a point of United and then get back to our winning ways.

Have any of you heard about John Bostock joining us on loan before the end of the January transfer window? There's lots of rumors floating around Charlton about it.

A Spurs thread on a movie magazine forums page!!!
Now I know I've found utopia.
Anyone else think Man U (Salford Utd) besides always conning us every time we visit Old Trafford, parked their preverbial bus in front of their goal to stop us scoring at the lane the other week?
How many times have rival managers accussed Spurs of doing that, Man u came for a point, they were never interested in winning.
Goodfella, saw your post in another thread mate, think you've got Spurs mixed up with another club, Arsenal, Salford Utd, Chelski perhaps?
I haven't noticed an increase in Tottenham shirts where I live and speaking as a 30 year fan we've always had a pretty decent away following.
As for success, well there are only four clubs in the history of English football that have won more major honours than Spurs, I'd call that a good record over all wouldn't you?
Plus this thread quite clearly has a Tottenham leaning, it says so in the title, if you dislike the club so much why are you posting here?
Football existed before the Premier Leauge and Sky, I mourn the fact that we are still not the biggest team in London, as we once were.

How the hell was Sidwell not even penalised, never mind sent off for that right hook on Defoe. I wonder how much the ref has on Fulham winning today?

He should be punished by having to face Jordan in a fight. He wouldn't stand a chance

I've been watching it at work and remarked to my colleagues that Gattuso clearly didn't know who Joe Jordan is as even at his age, Jordan would still rip his head off and shit down his neck. And Graeme Souness clearly thought it was hilarious in the studio and would have definitely been up for a scrap.

I know he's banned for the next leg anyway, but I imagine UEFA will throw the book at him now.
