CSI 's - 1/10/2005 4:41:22 PM

I would say that CSI Las Vegas remains the daddy of all the spin-offs.  The Las Vegas team are all interesting in their own right and the flaws/strengths are well written and used as plot devices throughout the seasons.  Miami has no characters to empathise with, Horatio Crane himself is an arse who speaks in cliches and thinks a stare is as good as an explanation.  The rest are just cyphers with nothing to hook into.  NY has stereotypes as the cast. The fiesty Latino, the Goodfella Italian struggling to escape his background, the troubled cheif who is haunted by 9/11, the female investigator who just cares too damn much.

No for me it has to be Las Vegas as the original and still best.  That said the Tarantino episode was a serious mis-step and hopefully they will not succumb to letting a fan have a go at directing again

3/24 - You Only Die Once

We all know the long tradition of pretitle craziness on CSI shows. This week, Detective Flack is smooching with a young lady while their apartment is being burgled. Flack gives chase but the burglar speeds off in a black sports car resembling a stealth jet; Flack hijacks a taxi and starts a wild car chase through the streets of Manhattan, but is defeated when the sports car turns out to be armed with a flame thrower. At which point the titles start. It's terrific fun, in a James Bond sort of way, and that's how the episode continues, with a Bond-meets-Pink- Panther storyline involving even more techno-candy than usual - a computer hidden in a tux for stealing data, smart water, memory polymer, high-powered lasers, and so on. And in true Bond-girl style, Stella dons a ball gown you won't forget in a hurry.

CSI Vegas and New York are the best because they are just so good at what they do, and make it really interesting and fun to watch where miami everything is so dull even though they are all wearing bright colors and have weird  version of greg in the Wolfe character. The only good thing about Horatio is that once he puts the sunglasses on he seems to gain the power of teleportation. I can't wait for Saturday's NY episode and the next Vegas episode that crossess over with Without a trace.

I used to love CSI - all three of them - but have gone right off them recently.  All the cast look like catwalk models, and there's always some unspoken sexual tension between a couple of the characters.  The team leader is always a single, charismatic man, who annoys his superiors - it's just the same old thing in each series.  Although Gary Sinise is an excellent actor, no doubt about that.

Im loving Csi-NY more than Vegas at them moment, the new story arc better pan out well.
Miami will always be a guilty pleasure due to Caruso and the gut from Cliffhanger!!

CSI NY was freaking brilliant on saturday, and it was funny to see Mac try and chat up a guy on the in the game, and how he noticed details in the game as clues to help them find the killer, this is one of the best episodes of NY i've ever seen next to the spy one and the one where their office gets invaded and Danny & Adam are kidnapped.

The Irish Mob season 2 finale was a great episode, like a mini Die Hard!!
It was a great episode, wonder if the assassin and 3:33 are connected in some way, but is Second Life really that jerky??

Also im thinking that the letter from Peyton isnt really from her, I think its 3:33 again.

    6/24 - Who and What

There's a guest star in tonight's CSI who will be very familiar to fans of missing persons drama Without a Trace. It's stolid, grumpy FBI Special Agent Jack Malone (Anthony La Paglia), who arrives dramatically by helicopter at the scene of a double-murder in Las Vegas.
What's he doing here, you will wonder. Well, this is a Without a Trace crossover episode; a great idea in America, where the shows are on the same channel, but not over here where Without a Trace runs on Channel Four and CSI is, of course, on five. Luckily for us, then, that five and C4 have reached an agreement, and the concluding Without a Trace episode is on five US immediately afterwards.

I don't know  if the letter and the calls are from the same person, but I do think they are connected someway.

I didn't even know Second Life was real, I thought the show made it up.

CSi - NY had a great ending, it made me think another spin-off was coming!

CSi - Vegas. Another good episode, but is it to be continued? There was no 'To Be Continued' thing at the end.

NY has been great this year. Mac's story reminds me of the miniature killer in Vegas last year. It did seem like a setup for a spinoff. Interesting about the Trbune Tower though, I'd not heard of that before.

As for Vegas, the synopsis for the next episode doesn't sound like it's a continuation, but I'd imagine it would play some big part.

Macs story has been great this year, the 333 caller and it's continuation has been one of the highlights of any CSI series to me, even outdoing CSI Vegas minature killer and that bloke that fryied people in baths.

It did set it up for a spin off, wether it be CSI:Chicago or something else.

CSI:NY has turned into the superior CSI show it seems, Vegas seems old and stale now, even though Jorja Fox has left and been replaced.

Yeah, CSi NY has become the better show for me too, but Vegas did have some cracking episodes a few weeks back.
Im thinking of the Murder Game in particular. Loved the whole mickey taking of it, especially when the mortuary assistant (whos name i forget) couldnt wait to blurt out "No evidence of sexual trauma"

I like how CSI Vegas and CSI New york keep it original, in the case of Vegas the episode where hodges and the people who do the analysing for the CSI's try to solve made up murders of each other was clever especially at the end when Grissiom has a go. And the Gangster episode involving Warrick and the weird drugged up sequence. CSI New york with the clue of the 3D jigsaw of New york that involved places Mac lived or worked, but I don't think that him being in chicago will lead to another spin off.

Never really took to Miami myself. I dont mind watching it if there's nothing else on, and the CSI:Miami drinking game is always fun, but I just don't like any ofthe characters really. Horatio is likeable enough but the others just bore me. New York has taken over from Vegas as my favourite with its more gritty and realistic approach and that I like every single one of the characters. In Vegas I absolutley hate Catherine and for a while the genius that is Grisom seemed to be being pushed into the sidelines to make way for her stories which made me not bother with Vegas anymore. Yet I just picked up Season 7 on DVD and I have to say I'm loving every episode. Grisom is back where he should be, as the main character, and the Minature Killer ongoing story is brilliant! All I want now is for them to kill off Catherine and do a New York/Vegas crossover where Mac and Grissom team up together!

Well, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the conclusion of the '333 Caller' storyline on NY this week. Seemed horribly rushed and obvious that it was Drew. Shame such a good storyline had such a pants ending.

Have to agree with YFU, it wasnt the ending it could have been. I was hoping it would drag out a bit more and maybe link in with the letter from Peyton.

I didnt figure it was Drew straight away.

Have to agree with Vadersville a Vegas/NYC cross over would be great, if it was done correctly.

Yep, it's a shame that the story was over so quickly. I was hoping it would be a series long affair.

    Tonights Vegas was good.
    Ther highlights for me....
    • the bull stamping on the cowboys face
    • Greg and Nick finding the 'bull stimulator' .
Was surprised Warrick was back so quick i thought his 2 weeks suspension would actually last 2 weeks. Maybe his story arc continues?

Particularly funny when Wendy have told her story

What has happened to Sofia Curtis, played by Louise Lombard? She seems to have disappeared this year.
