I think now that Craig is Bond he's too much of a star to sidelined as Weber.

How about John Leuigiziamo as Ding Chavez? he was excellent as a special ops guy in Executive Decision.
or what about Cliff Curtis? He's a Kiwi I know, but he played a great Latino guy in Training Day.
John Clark...thats a toughie...in the book he's like 60 - but Hollywood's been known to break the rules on this
sort of shit...what about Clooney? He's got that badass-and-I'll-command everyone persona.
Paul Bettany as Deiter Webber! He looks German, he may have to bulk up a bit - but I reckon he'd do a fine job.

From: under a gooseberry bush!!
Why do people insist that John Clark is an action hero?
In the book John Clark is ready to hang up his anti-terrorism gloves and is described
as not being as fit as he used to be BUT he does run things back at 'command' with
precision.
The action hero is Chavez!!
A rethink is needed here for who should fit the bill for Clark......I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE!!!

I'd prefer to watch Splinter Cell movie. Filming Tom Clancy's book is hard but quite interesting thing

How long do we have to wait!! I read this book 7 years ago and I still recommed it now. It tottally rocks. I have my reservations that it will make a good film as so much happens. But a big Hollywood 10 part series would definately do it justice!!

john woo wouldn't be suited for this, as it's more a slow build-up, not an out-and-out actioner, with very little actual gunplay!

should go to a frankenheimer-type director

I don't think this is ever going to get made, which is a shame. If Paramount are insistent on resurrecting the Ryan franchise, I think they should seriously consider doing a Clarke/Chavez franchise within it. Introduce them and perhaps do Rainbow Six as a spinoff....

Get Liev Schreiber back as Clarke OR if they're going older...John C. McGinley?

Perhaps Sucre from Prison Break as Chavez? Ideally, I'd want Raymond Cruz back from Clear And Present Danger but I think he's too old now... pity.

For the rest of 'Six', there's so many talented British and American actors, that's it would simply just turn into a list but currently I'm picturing most of Easy Company from Band of Brothers... just in modern day assault gear.

Too old maybe? How about Freddie Rodriguez (Planet Terror, Scrubs etc)? Ding is meant to be a short-arse...

See I originally thought of Freddie too, but I think he might be just a little too short for the role and doesn't seem to sport that badass 'I could fuck you up with my little finger' look. I don't think age would be too much of a problem as long as they don't look too old. Antonio Banderas could possibly pull the look off.

So this isn't a film about buses? Here in Nottingham we have Rainbow 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 (although 5 has just been rebranded 'Indigó') so I thought maybe this was about some sort of 6th dimension of bus routes.

No?

I'll get me coat....
