By far the funniest of the trio, certainly much more consistent than the second one.  The dismal Fat Bastard character is kept to a minimum, and the opening scene ranks among the funniest of recent years.  The casting of Michael Caine is inspired, and against all odds, Beyonce is a sassier and more entertaining sidekick than Liz Hurley or Heather Graham.

I guess as I'm not a big fan of the Austin Power movies, I shouldn't really be saying much, so I won't . I just want to say that I think it gets a bit same old in the third installment, it's just they have more cash to splash around.

I thought it was alright at times but sometimes you kind of have to force yourself to laugh!

It is a funny film, the first is probably the funniest though. 'Austin Powers is the snake to my mongoose, or the mongoose to my snake. I don't know animals, either way it's bad!'

Although you could say that this is the weakest of the trilogy, it's still bloody good entertainment. Dr. Evil and Mini Me are still my favourites, and the cameos have me laughing everytime.

An Austin Powers thread!

Considering comedy is the only genre that can get away with the "If it ain't broke, don't innovate it" thing, personally, I love this one as much as the others. Michael Caine is brilliant, as is the postmodernism and bits of family drama.

Love this film it is definetly the 2nd best in the trilogy as The Spy who Shagged Me is the best one.
Some great gags and it is still as fresh as ever some jokes are a bit tiring and predictable but overall it'll have you laughing in stitches as both Dr Evil & Mini Me steal the film once again and the villian Goldmember is genius.

Best Bit has to be when Dr Evil says:
"You mean to say I actually have friggin' sharks with friggin' laser beams on their friggin' heads"

The only thing I do have a problem with is that Beyonce does get on my nerves however she is bearable in this.
Overall 4/5

I think Goldmember is great, not the best Austin Powers movie but very enjoyable.
Beyonce is the best female lead of the three movies and Michael Caine is brilliant as Austin's dad.
It's good to see all the supporting cast back as well, Seth Green is great as Scott Evil.
A very funny movie 4/5

Funnily enough I watched this the other night and still love it as much as I originally did. I am a big fan of the Austin Powers movies. I thought it was very funny and the use of all the great characters was spot on. Plus Beyonce looks oh sooooo fine it makes for great viewing pleasure...mmmm

Very entertaining and funny. Perhap's the weakest of the three but thats no crime as they are all hilarious.
Some fantastic moments in this one, such as the brilliant opening scene with all those great cameos, any part with the 'mole'. Fucking comedy gold! I still adore the way Dr. Evil intimidates Scott. For example ''Mine-me like's chocolate, Scottie don't!''. He's so childish! Fab character though.

Not a patch on the first work of art, but this still gives us some comedy to die for, and a back-on-form mike myers too. Smashing, baby. VERY switched on...

Third outing for Powers this time involving the disco era of the 70's and introducing his father with winning results much like Indy did in 'The Last Crusade'.

Its Powers, its crazy, its childish, its chock full of sexual innuendo and toilet humour and like the previous two films its part of the best Bond spoof/parody franchise created. We all know what to expect with this and you get exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak.

The comedy is as sharp and witty as ever being thick n fast as Myers does his thing with various characters, his new creation of 'Goldmember' being typically dumb but quite amusing, unfortunately we also have to endure his Scottish creation again. There are loads of cameos throughout which do seem a little too much at times I must admit (do we really need to see Spears prancing around and Quincy Jones in a clear pointless ego nod?) but the cast continuity still impresses.

The mock intro sequence at the start is a good example of how it can work with Cruise actually looking a dead ringer for the Powers character and sending up his 'M.I.' films perfectly, kudos to Cruise for being able to laugh at himself. The inclusion of Devito and Spacey as 'Dr Evil' and 'Mini me' both hit the nail on the head perfectly also, you could easily do a new film with that cast hehe. The added bonus of Caine playing Powers father is possibly the best bit of casting I've seen for along time, he was born for the role haha.

This time the franchise almost turned into a smutty sexual spoof like 'Flesh Gordon' in places, the comedy is definitely a touch risky where as the second film was smarter with more cultural references and the first being more sensible plot wise if that's possible. Anyway its still great fun with 'Dr Evil' being the highlight for me as always, love his rap but I can't decide which film is the best, possibly number two.
