Like sunflower seeds, babies and Luke Skywalker's lightsaber?

Harsh Realm ran for 13 episodes or something like that.

Haha.... Next you'll be telling me that Chris Carter doesn't exist, that the very notion of his being is being telepathically sent to our brains via a high frequency transmitter that's being suspended above the very point on Earth where the experiments into alien/human hybrids are taking place...

Yeah, I heard about the CC rift earlier today. Gah! What the fuck! Thanks Chris & Fox.

It explains a lot.

The Abduction arc turned into an official phile.  Good stuff!

So, why exactly is Chris Carter suing FOX? Is it just me who read "breach of contract" and thought "eh?" And I didn't know David Duchovny had sued them back in 1999.

It was lucky that Gillian Anderson was pregnant during the filming of season 2, because if she wasn't the Abduction arc would never have happened. At the time, some of the writers were going to get around the problem with an "alien baby" arc!! How ridiculous!!

Oh wait, that happened in season 9...

11 episodes into Season 2 now and I'm not sure whether I prefer this season or the first. The first few episodes were great ("The Host", "Blood", "Duane Barry/Ascension") but I feel its dipped a little since - "Firewalker" was basically a re-hash of "Ice" from the first season. I'm hoping for better things as I delve deeper into this highly-praised season.

I thought exactly the same about Firewalker. There are some serious low points in season 2. But it gets better, in typical X Files style, the last few episodes are really great.

Just coming up to "Irresistable" which I hear is a very good episode indeed...

Man, just when I start getting into the show, people stop posting in here! Grr.

I actually remember watching this episode with my parents when it was on BBC years ago...

I remember it being in black-and-white, Mulder and Scully talking to some mad scientist, and cheesy, B-movie-style lightining.

Well, Season 2 certainly has picked up again. The "Colony/End Game" two-parter was pretty cool, if a little slow, and I was really surprised by "Fearful Symmetry", the one I had known from my friends to be "the one with the invisible elephant in it". "Dod Kalm", with Mulder and Scully investigating a lost ship where everyone on it has suffered from extreme ageing, was one of the best episodes I thought, and "Humbug" was brilliant.

Mulder: "We're exhuming ... your potato."

Just watching my first X-Files in 2 weeks... My standards are slipping...

I watched Schizogeny & Chinga. Schizogeny I thought was quite poor actually, although I was shocked to see Katharine Isabelle in it! And I recognised the young lad ("Bobby") from somewhere. Chinga had all the hallmarks of a Stephen King story.... Nowt special but rather engaging. Scully in her saddo tourist t-shirt...  And Mulder being bored without her.

I have a shedload of episodes on vhs from the telly, but I have no idea which episode is from which season.
I bought Season's 5-8 on VHS boxset a couple of years back, VERY cheap from my local Virgin Megastore (I used to work there, and got a bit of a discount too), and managed to sit and watch all of them in sequence.
I'm gonna get the first four seasons on DVD pretty soon I think, and then I can ditch the VHS' that are taking up a lot of space.
And havent seen any of season 9 yet.......but it started to get a bit iffy from 7 onwards, didnt really take to Doggit.(sp?)

Which episode is that poster of? I don't remember a modern day Frankenstein. I'm intrigued!

Again, my taste is seriously brought into question because all the "great" episodes that everyone praises I really don't like that much. Humbug and Irresistable were just "ok", I thought.

I loved the episode "Our Town," for me, it's the best single parter episode in the season.

Almost ordered Season 1 DVD on ebay the other day, for about 20.

Glad I didnt, cos I just got it at Play for 12.99......

Unfortunately, its only season 1 thats cheap, Season 2 is 29.99.

Might have to get them from Ebay after all.

If you can hang on for the next lot of sales, you might get them at a decent price. I got season 6 in Virgin's post-Christmas sale for 19.99. HMV reduce them to 24.99. But you've probably missed out on that now so just wait until the next round of sales mate.

I've just watched Kill Switch and Bad Blood.

Kill Switch I must have seen before cos I remember the amputation thing but didn't remember anything else.

Bad Blood I really don't remember at all and I think I would.  Firstly, the delectable Luke Wilson is in it.  Secondly the whole Mulder's Story vs Scully's Story.

Is that when shes describing Wilson as a handsome man, and Mulder's like, 'huh? he had massive teeth!' etc?
I vaguely remember that one, what season's that?

It is indeed season 5 and he has "buck teeth" according to Mulder which Scully indicates later on isn't true when they meet the guy again.

There must be some sort of desire for this show at the moment. It's on every weekend on FX, these crazy magazines with DVDs have started selling, and nearly all the season box-sets have disappeared at my local WHSmith.

Oh it's on FX all the time. I just don't have FX, else I might watch them on there! Although last time I saw it on FX (about 3 months ago) it was one of the later seasons with Doggett in it and I had only the faintest clue of what was going on. Glad I have started from the beginning again.

They're onto the third season now, but I've missed a few episodes already so I'm looking out for the DVD on eBay.

FX and the X Files is a bit like E4 and Friends.

They'll slap on random episodes, and the only time there is any continuity is if one episode ends with a 'to be continued'!

Still, I dont mind watching random stand alone episodes.

But once the DVDs arrive, FX is OUT!

Never seen that one, which would be why I don't remember it .

I do, however, remember a very strange episode from years ago. I was only little, so my memory of it is vague. The whole episode is shot as if from a handheld camcorder, a bit like Blair Witch . Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Was that not Jose Chung's From Outer Space? Which was part-filmed with a camcorder... I can't remember one that was wholly done with a camcorder but then I am only halfway through season 5 and I have no recollection of the later seasons.

That sounds like Scully and Doggett's first case. I think it's episode 3 season 8. Patience I think. This is all without checking. I'm not a S8 and 9 lover so I'm not sure...
