Good to see this thread still up and running. I had a wonderful summer of cider and ale, also the odd fancy French lager thrown in for good measure whilst in Biarritz. I have particular fond memories of supping pints of Weston's Organic in various beer gardens around Somerset. Also, was introduced to Addlestones. A delicious, hazy and fruitful cider with a very mellow and slightly sweet taste made by Matthew Clark. The only place I managed to find it on draught was a pub in Balham during the England v Portugal game. Everyone else was quaffing Magners in plastic glasses crammed with ice. The swines. Not so long ago, I paid a visit to Weston's cider farm in Much Marcle, just outside of Hereford. What a day that was, a full tour of the farm, coupled with some serious sampling of their full range. Old Rosey stood out for me as a favourite. Also was at Thatchers a few weeks a go briefly, managed to scarper with a case of Katy Single Varietal, lovely stuff. Now we're in the winter months, I'm getting stuck into my ales again. Just lately, I've tried a beer made by a friend of mines dad called Red Heron, tis very good and have also been trying various different Exmoor ales, which are rarely a poor pint.
