They are from the 700D. I am using the same lens but it is focusing faster and better with the new body. I am certain you will be getting some great shots with a 70D.

I believe you will enjoy the variable angle touch screen as it speeds up the alteration of setting and if using real view can be angled so you can take pictures around corners and so the real view does not get glare from the sun. You should be able to get some quality crops with that pixel level. I would suggest stocking up on some 32 or 64gb level 10 memory cards though as the larger size pictures can be a tad memory hungry (and if using RAW you need an up to date photo editing suite as I had to upgrade to Elements 12 as my old version was incompatible).

Thanks for the tips mate, from the research I've done so far I can see I've got a lot to learn about this camera. The ability to do big crops without losing too much quality was a big selling point for me considering a lot of my bird shots are necessarily long distance ( until I get the long awaited lenses I need ). The 70d also has WiFi which means I can use it by remote with my Tablet, something I'm looking forward to trying out, another handy thing for skittish birdlife.

The wifi element is something I wish I had, however I am finding the 700D a very nice step up. I went to Pensthorpe yesterday and considering the morning had been pouring rain it was pretty much my girlfriend and I and one other person in the enter reserve (other than the staff) when we arrived. It cleared out pretty much as soon as we got there.

Can't seem to load images anymore since the forum reboot. Anyone have an idea why?

The dragonflies were Muckymans.

Some lovely pictures there Hozay.

I was at the beach yesterday and tried to take a picture of a Little Tern. I must have been too close to their nest (about 50 feet way as I got an extreme close up as it mobbed me)

Nice moth. They always fly away before I can focus on them when I try to take a picture.

I have a week off so am taking picture of everything which moves (and many things which do not).

These are the last ones for the time being. A couple of them a bit rubbish but are just to show that if you want a lovely blue sky a polarised filter is definitely worth investing in.

Total DSLR virgin, but we bought one a few weeks ago (Nikon DS3200 with double lens kit) and I was playing around with the dog trying to get some decent pictures, he's the only photogenic thing in the house!

Must remember to take the camera out with me more often, I was always forget!

If you are anything like me you are about to get a lot of memories of the dog.

I have loads of dog pictures since I got a camera.

I decided not to waste my day off so went for a walk around Whittlingham Broad before the rain set in.

The blade of grass gets in the way but the way they were holding their feet amuses me.

Nice shots Sanchia, love the church.

Honeyeater in a Coral Tree. I haven't adjusted the colours of this, it's straight from the camera.

Lovely vivid pictures there hozay. Just out of curiousity, what setting do you have your camera set to?

I've recently updated to a Canon 70d and am still learning this camera's functions. I have it set on Standard and haven't used the pre - programmed ( and adjustable ) Picture Styles.
I haven't changed the settings on any of the "Picture Styles" having found that when I did it on my 1000d the colours never seemed natural enough.
I mostly use the advanced functions ( Creative Zones ) P, Tv, Av and Manual. I've also Enabled the Highlight Tone Priority.

I've been practicing my photography a lot recently. I took this photo in Hong Kong a few months ago. It's my favourite image that I've taken so far.
