I quite like it myself so decided to try to HDR it up a bit. It is about my first success with HDR by the look of it.

And now an obligatory Meerkat picture.

That top photo (the one with the rocks) is fantastic Sanchia - where is it? Loving the tiger too

This seems like a good place to ask this: I'm in the market (or will be soon) for a new camera, but I have no idea which one. I know there's a thread a few pages back in OT about DSLRs but I've actually been thinking about getting a bridge camera, as I'm not a serious photographer but it would be nice to have something with a little bit of SLR functionality. Is anyone here using a bridge, or know anything of them? Recommendations/avoid-at-all-costs?

It was in the aviary at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Park in Norfolk. They did quite a good job of making it look like it was outside.

I used to have a Fuji bridge camera before I upgraded to my current Canon and found it very good (although it did have an annoying focus thing where you could not manually focus if you wanted to take a picture through something like branches etc. but had to focus on something approx the same distance away then lock the focus and take your picture although I believe they have fixed this now). The good thing about the Fuji is that they tend to have a very good optical zoom and the lens are very good.

gives some idea of what is out there now but looking at the prices you could get an entry level DSLR for almost the same price.

I have also found this site quite good for camera reviews as they provide good level of detail on picture quality etc.

Thanks Sanchia - I didn't actually realise that entry level DSLRs had come down in price so much. Quite tempted by one of them now

Rather than waste a day off I had a trip to another local zoo.

I was a bit bored so went for a walk in Norwich. Mostly around the Cathedral.

Thank you,

I just wish my camera was quicker as the image a few milliseconds later on the snow leopard was far better.
