I took this in a Cathedral in Liverpool (my sister graduated , she's a doctor now!).



It's a lot more colourful, but Photobucket has washed it out a bit. It's probably not very good but I saw the sunshine through the stained glass and I had to snap it.

This image was taken at the RIAT 2011 in Fairford. Quite sad, as in that formation somewhere was Flt Lt Jon 'Eggman' Egging; who tragically died trying to avert disaster by steering his plane away from the built-up urban areas.

Speaking of camera phones, my contract runs out in December but I can upgrade at the end of this month, does anyone know of any really good camera phones? I've seen some example photos by the Nokia N8 but I've heard that the interface and texting etc is archaic

I used to have a phone a few years ago that had a Carl Zeiss lens, and to be honest I've regretted getting rid of it ever since. I just wish I remembered what make it was

 Nokia used to have some makes of phones with Carl Zeiss lens about 5 years ago. In fact they still do.

Thanks I went for a Samsung Galaxy S2 in the end, I've wanted one with a good camera for ages now, and this one's good enough that I don't need to get a separate digi camera on the side. Off to the Black Mountains tomorrow so I'll be snapping away like crazy again!

It's the video that blows me away though, proper 1080 hi def. Sure you can see it's being compressed but still.... wow

 Cheers! The fisheye lens I had was awesome, here's another I took (in Sicily on the same cruise)



You're right about the stadium though (they had Barcelona crisps!!!! ) and the tour was amazing. I would LOVE to go to an actual game there. Going back next year so might look in to that

Apologies if I'm spamming the thread too much, but I've just finished building my high speed flash trigger and have been playing about with it all night (and the trigger too, eyethangyou!) though you guys might like to see the first results. oh, and before you ask, it's food colouring

completely agree with you - I started when I bought my dslr last year (just to see what it was about) didn't think much of it, as I got PS at the same time.

I spent a day at a hill climb and switched back to Jpegs as I was taking so many shots - certainly missed the options then (500 odd shots to do)

Both were taken with my Sony A450

The tractor was taken out of a car window with the kit lens that came with the camera (18-55, f3.5-5.6) and a polarising filter

the church was taken with a minolta xi 28-105, it's a decent enough lens for the price I paid (around £50 on Ebay) but I think I'm going to get rid of it to be honest - it's a "power zoom" lens so it wears the battery down a bit more, and there is no scope for manual focus on it, it also tends to "hunt" a bit in low light.
