New Forest yesterday. I like it because the dog's almost going for the lens flare!

I posted this one in the "Cold" thread, but I thought I'd post it here too, I quite like how it came out.

Thanks hozay..they were so funny that day, really on edge. When I was sitting on that bench I got pretty much surrounded by about 4-5 of them, and afew pigeons too. When I was taking a shot ot my right a squirrel climbed my leg from the left...scared the living daylights out of me because it was so fast!! I got and walked away slowly and they followed me all the way down the path. They wouldn't leave me alone.

Lol..they are incredibly sneaky. And they do like to flank you from all sides!
Don't be fooled by their cuteness either. (They're basically rats with really good PR as one comedian once said) Those guys have sharp teeth and claws.
I can still feel where one of them climbed up on my leg....bbbrr.

I was reading about them last night to see what kind of food they next so I can give them something next time I am there. They put a warning on the website not to hold you hand out because they will chew your fingers off.

I tweaked my last picture a bit.

I'm not certain if it is for the better though.

An attempt to ressurect the mammoth

A couple of attempts at night shooting (although not fully successful). I quite like the effect of the longer exposure in the first shot though.

Some Photoshop touch-ups here:

Original

'Shopped

Original

Shopped

Original

Shopped

The last one was taken on my mobile from a friends balcony (it's Laugharne Castle by the way ), hence why it's a bit blurry.

Any feedback? Anything I might have missed or anywhere I've gone a bit too far? I'm trying to improve my photo-retouching skills (building a portfolio), but I'm not all that confident that I know what I'm doing at the moment

I don't know if you want to read up on 'the rule of thirds'

I like the tree one, but maybe slightly better framed. I don't get what the first one is a pic of, i'd have cropped the woman on the left out.

This is a pic from Cornwall over new year. The original is much clearer, damn uploading.

I just got a Canon EOS 550D and to practice with it I went out and took some photos of my sheep. This is the best facial expression:

or 'shopped her out    I like the tree one as well but would have had the tree more to the left.  Rule of thirds is definitely the way to go

This made me genuinely laugh out loud. If only there was a handy abbreviation for expressing that.

I love how Gandalf looks like he's saying "WTF?" after the swords-sheep comes up

I'm still getting to grips with my camera, but I quite like this shot. Photobucket seems to have reduced the quality of the colour somewhat, which is a shame as I'd enhanced the saturation. The photo on my computer looks a lot better anyway.

Try saving your shots in the sRGB colour space (on a copy of the original) in Photoshop or whatever editing software you're using, before you upload them. In Photoshop, go to Edit > Convert to Profile and select sRGB from the Destination Space dropdown menu, then OK on that. Colours can look a bit off if you upload something that was shot/saved in Adobe RGB, hopefully they'll look a bit better if you upload a version in sRGB.
