I've heard a few times that Lovefilm and/or Screen Select offer 3 months for the price of 1 after you cancel.  Anyone know more, like how long they wait to do it?  I quit SS a while ago and LF a few weeks ago, but the only offer I got was a week free with SS on cancelling.

About a year after I left Lovefilm they sent me an email offering me 2 months for the price of 1 and that is when I joined up again. (They had sent other offers in the interim but at that particular time they were of no use to me.)

This week i rented V for Vendetta, a really really great film. It was well worth the 4 stars that Empire gave it. I don't know if i'd buy it but still very good.

Oh well, cheers anyway.  Maybe SS will come up with something better.

The Wire is surely the best TV show ever broadcast in America. This claim isn't based on my having seen all the possible rivals for the title, but on the premise that no other program has ever done anything remotely like what this one does, namely to portray the social, political, and economic life of an American city with the scope, observational precision, and moral vision of great literature.

There's a nice R1 box set with these two along with You Can't Cheat An Honest Man, It's A Gift and International House for about 20-25.

Don't know why?

I heard that it was a terrible movie, but even I'd rent it.
