Probably Hollywoods premier actor when it comes to playing nutcases, he seems to have slipped down the Hollywood pecking list in recent years, so hers some of my favourite films of his, feel free to add some of your own (I was going to do a poll, but seeing as hes been going for 50 or so years I thought better of it)

Blue Velvet

Apocalypse Now

Easy Rider

Rumble Fish

Speed

The American Friend

Red Rock West

True Romance

and Waterworld (probably the only watchable actor in thw whole film)

I'm not sure what is my favourite film with Dennis Hopper. I think that Easy Rider is over-rated, Blue Velvet as well, but to a lesser extent.

I did like him in Red Rock West, a very entertaining film, as was Boiling Point.

I Thought he gave a short but excellent performance in Apocalypse Now.

Yes Happy Birthday!  Although he hasn't been in anything of note for Years, Hooper has done so many good films over a number of decades, and has also proved a intresting Director too.  He's done enough to be considered a bit of a cult lengend in my eyes.

Blue Velvet - One of my top twenty Films of all time, Where the hell he pull that performance from i don't think even he knows.

Cracking in Speed, it's a enjoyble film anyway but he really steals it for me.

Very slimy and evil in the Slick, atmosphric thriller Red Rock West.  Featuring Lara Flynn Boyle(who i offically want to marry)

For something a little cult try the road movie Jeusis Son

and lets not forget the classics Easy Rider and Rumble Fish also.

(IMO) a legend. He shines in Apocolypse Now, with a brief role, and I also liked him in Rumble Fish

It's a great scene with him and Walker, as appenatly they made a lot of it up as they went along.
