Don't you mean scumbags?

Quite a warm welcome this guy is getting considering he vowed to take jobs out of this country and bring them back to America.

Yeah, thought the Anti-Shannon crowd would be out....and that bloke who's always outside the Dail in the orange jumpsuit.

Maybe they didn't fancy the weather this morning.

It was the most passionite I have ever seen him. Twas a bit strange in truth.,

It's been an amazing week or so for Ireland in terms of public profile. It's about time that we trie dto generate some positivity around the place.

Is féidir linn!

Actually, thought his speech wasn't all that great myself - bit rambling, maybe the Guinness was too strong for him.
And what the feck is the deal with handing over babies for presidents to hold!? Haven't people seen The Dead Zone?

Not all that familiar with this Roscommon hospital situation, but there seems to be a parish pump odour from it.

I see the parish pump is still alive and well in Irish politics.

Anyone paying this household tax? Personally I'm holding out till the last second, not as a protest as such, I'm just not convinced the government won't do a u-turn on it and I'll be €100 out of pocket.

Apparently only 15% of the country has paid...could be the water charges all over again.

Just posting up to celebrate my Irish heritage. My double helix is powered by fully 50% Irish DNA, and I owe a debt of gratitude to the Emerald Isle for having sheltered my people before they made the journey to North America.

In tribute, I offer this elegant image of shamrocks growing up the trunk of a moss covered tree:

One if the questions in the application form is about what kind of water connection you have, fuckers aren't even being subtle about what they're planning next.....

it's a pity there wasn't as much opposition to the Anglo Bail out and NAMA, considering what it's costing.

Soooo, everyone decided how they're going to vote?
I'm voting yes
I think I kinda understand the treaty and am making a relativly informed choice.
But mainly I just don't like the look of anyone on the No side.

I moved out of Ireland a few years ago so I only follow things on a small scale. A few things strike me;
people don't like the bail out but it's either accept that money at low rates or go to the markets at close to 8%,
the whole EU forced us into bailing out German banks but brian Lenihan was behind the Anglo guarantee and he was re-elected and people seem to have a favourable view of him (plus I have a hard time believing FF did something without people close to them benefiting);
kind of related to the bail out in that where do people think money wiill come from just for basic running of the country;
too many people still think rising property prices are a good thing; some people still seem to be under the impression that the bubble years was normal;
someone from the party thatbankrupted the country nearly got elected president;

I hate to sayit but Ireland is not that far form a failed state in that we hardly seem capable of looking after ourselves.

Absolutely voting Yes. Basically for the same points you added: The No Vote just looks stupid.

That said, my knowledge of it all comes from the fifteen minutes of the Metro I read on the Dart every morning
