When the started the search for a new Bond I made the decesion that if Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman was picked I would burn my Bond Collection.

Thank goodness they picked Daniel Craig. I am forever in the debt of EON for chosing Craig. and after watching this epic performance with Campbell's direction encorperating Craigs ice cold killer stare. i will still burn my bond collection as Bond Begins here.

I just hope he has signed on for more than 3.

Craig is Bond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i saw this for the third time yesterday(my birthday), ad it stil manages to amaze me. its kept me hooked all the times, though struggling on third viewing, but its still bloody amazing. i dont think that free running sequence will be mathched by a film in a long time, may be november 2008, when the new bond comes out.

I really liked this movie. The poker game was f**king hard core and the chem between
Bond and Vesper was excellent - I love it when stars look like they're about to clear off
the dinner table and start shagging!

My last favourite Bond film was Licence To Kill - I actually liked Dalton as Bond and
I loved it cos Bond went rogue. Now if they did a Bond 'goes rogue' story with Daniel
Craig would be kick arse.

PS: Sam Fisher's still the ultimate spy. He's a 'real' spy - not the 'tuxedo' spy.
Bring on Splinter Cell the movie!

really liked it, i was very impressed by Craig and Green who were both very good. I was pleased the writers were a bit more daring and actually invested some time in the emotional side of things, which Craig conveyed very well, and still remained a badarse! Some bloody great sequences, the highlight for me was the poker section which was expertly handled by Campbell, and (i love poker anyway) fucking ace to watch. Some have said its a tad long but i think it just gets away with it.

It was also nice to see M have a bit more to do, and Dench was class as always. It was nice to see the hint of humanity given to every character, and that added depth. M's slightly maternal feelings towards those under her care.

P.S the car was niceeeee, shame he had to wreck it.

Saw this last night and throughly enjoyed it.
A few minor gripes (I did miss the fancy gadgets - well, just a bit and I thought all the females parts were very weak, including Eva Green who could quite easily get a part in SA4 if she auditioned  and lastly, not enough of the car. Quite easily the sexiest thing on show all movie)
Bond is back though and harder than ever. I'd actually have my money on Bond in a fight between him, Bauer and Bourne!
All those Craig-is-not-Bond people can now happily all fuck off, the guy was terrific and justified every ounce of hope pinned on him.
I got a bit bum fidgety towards the end but overall, this Bond would be in my Top 5 Bonds without a shadow of a doubt (If not Top 3)
Here's to the next one!

book and film are so diferent, but equally great in their own rights...though in the book, bond asks vesper to marry him which seemed unconvincing, something wisely left out in the film.

now onto, live and let die....

i was ssooo pleased when i saw this film, because it lived up to my expectations of daniel craig as an actor, and how good the trailers looked!! i've seen it twice at the cinema and it was amazing both times. I love james bond films anyway, but this was more than just that. The other actors who have played bond have been great, but daniel craig can ACT, and the script and action was soo more real and gritty. I think bond is most certainly back, and most certainly better!!

Awesome re-booting of the Bond franchise - Daniel Craig kicks all his detractors firmly into touch with the finest Bond performance in terms of pure acting bar none.

Once again Bond shows what can be achieved in an action film without having to resort to lashings of CGI, plus I loved Eva Green who is instantly up there with the greatest Bond Girls of all time with her combination of beauty and smarts.

I also loved the the fact that he didn't actually use any gadgets apart from the defibrillator from the Aston Martin! (The poisoning scene really stood out as one of the finest in Bond history).

One thing I will say is that the torture scene where he is getting done in the family jewels - only Superman could take a beating like that to his nether regions!!

Casino Royale is a stripped down muscular back to basics story with excellently filmed sequences and a kick-arse hero. CGI effects have been replaced by tough action editing and real actors acting. This new post- Bourne Bond is energetic and earthbound. Gritty realism makes events believable: this character bleeds and is vulnerable. Renewal has been accomplished by cutting away at a franchise bloated by cliche, mannerism and techno-gadgetry. We get back to the making of 007,Bond's formative psychology. The sinewy Craig literally sweats for his lines, thankfully without the polish of the later Bond and the stale menagerie of gimmicks. Bond Begins.

James Bond is back in the 21st film since Dr. No. It is safe to say "Casino Royale" has re-defined the BOND genre. Daniel Craig is perfect as the suave agent in this action packed new version BOND. By erasing most of the 'gadgetry', Casino Royale has improved on both the action and dialogue sequences making this film a must-see this summer.

One of the best Bonds - 10/1/2007 12:39:24 PM

Daniel Craig is clearly one of the better actors to grace the Bond title, but the film itself could have been slightly bettered. The plot does falter and slow down in the middle - especially if you're not familiar with Poker - and the end didn't quite add up. Also, as was the case with the Star Wars prequels, you know how the main character's personality ends up, so when the romantic element is introduced it becomes obvious that this will play a part in the end result. But, as rumour has it that the plot will carry on through to the next Bond film and that this was always intended to be a different spin on the Bond genre, then it does generally play out very well. Daniel Craig is brilliantly gritty as a modern Bond, and the first hour is edge of your seat action and you can almost feel every bruise and scrape. Easily one of the top 5 bonds of all time, but time will tell how it fairs against the old classics.

Saw this last night, and although I enjoyed it, I left the cinema ultimately disappointed.
Daniel Craig is excellent and makes the part his own with a grittier and toughened take on Bond.
Campbell too has done a fine job considering the weak plot, with one of the best action sequences in any Bond franchise at the start of the film. And this is my main gripe, the best scene in the whole film is at the beginning, therfore leaving you deflated at the end when nothing truely out of the ordinary happens at the end.
All in all a good direction for the Bond franchise to take, and with a stronger script things can only get better.

How many BAFTA nominations?

Including one for Best Actor? Something a Bond actor has never achieved? Daniel Craig must be shit...
