Love all three! True classics. I hope they are never tempted to make a pointless fourth part or another crap remake attempt. BTTF should be left alone for at least fifty more years. I am really worried about the possibility of the proposed Ghostbusters 3 messing up that franchise for me, I always thought that was untouchable, they would never make a GB3 would they?! Let's hope hollywood leave BTTF alone (that includes CGI touches to special effects).

Anyway, I'm still waiting for a hoverboard. 6 years left to wait...

Not to take anything away from BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II but I remember I liked the idea of a hoverboard from another favourite film of mine which came out a few years before - THE TRANSFORMERS: THE ANIMATED MOVIE; Daniel rides one as he and Hotrod go to watch the shuttle land from Lookout Mountain.  anyhoo, I'm loving the BTTF Trilogy more than ever right now! I've been watching each film, each night since Friday - Part III tonight - I LOVE Silvestri's 'Western' Soundtrack in this one.

BTTF is my number one favourite film of all time! I prefer Part II to Part III, not quite sure why. I still love three but can watch the second film more often, if you see what I mean. Could you imagine how different it would be if Eric Stoltz didn't get fired for not finding the correct 'tone'?

I'm a huge Eric Stoltz fan and think he would have been interesting as Marty.

He resembles Crispin Glover too.

True, he is a good actor, no denying that but apparently he was just too serious. He was 'acting' the part whereas Fox was natural as though he really was Marty. It would have been interesting to see if they'd have made Parts 2 and 3 too with Stoltz.....

I always liked the fact that Zemeckis and co. are always allowed to 'openly' discuss Mr. Stoltz's early involvement in the project; there have been so many other films in which characters have been recast for some reason or another even after they have has some scenes filmed but the film-makers refuse to, or are simply not allowed to mention the names or show any pics or footage (Stuart Townsend as 'Aragorn' in Lord of the Rings for example) but the BTTF dvds cover this one quite a bit.

I've always wanted to know the real reason James Remar was sacked and replaced by Michael Biehn.

In Cameron's biography there's a hint that Remar had drug problems and there was a bit of a skirmish between him and Cameron - from what I remember.

I think Stoltz had a rough time in the 80s, he seemed to be in a lot of films I remember but his career didn't really take off (except with Mask). Glad he's in Caprica now.

I love these films.  They are in my top 10 films ever.  They are magic in every way and i can watch them any time.  In fact im going to watch them tonight after reading this thread has really got me in the mood.  Im so sad i have even got Marty's Nike trainersfrom the first film, and was one of the lucky ones to ride the Back To The Future ride before it closed.

Glad to see this thread is still going strong. I really, really hope we get to see the Stoltz footage on the Blu-Ray release next year. I love seeing alternate footage of projects. Seeing Dougray Scott as Wolverine is another one I would be really interested in seeing.

EDIT: Watch the greatest homage to BTTF too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GheAd59anbU

One of the greatest films ever made.

Period.

It's the movie that makes you realise that 'light entertainment' is bloody hard to get right.  But when you do get it right...it's a helluva thing

I adore this film and re-watched the first one the other day and still loved every minute of it.

I love the first movie, but the plot of the second just blows my mind. Incredible writing, impeccable timing. For me the sequel has everything the first has and more.

It's too bad the ride has been closed - I went o UNIVERSAL Florida back in 2000 and completely screamed like a little girl when I saw the DeLorean. The ride was awesome, I checked it out again at UNIVERSAL Japan last year.

That ride was amazing. First theme park to Universal Studios at age 11. Queued up for over 2 hours in some ridiculous heat... well worth the wait, that ride was amazing! (again for impact)

Not seen the second and third for a while, but they are a brilliant set of films!

I must have seen this film at least 20 times but I swear I never noticed the following until my most recent viewing:

The Two Pines Mall is called Lone Pine Mall after Marty's return (he ran over one pine tree upon his arrival at Peabody's farm).

Seriously? That's kind of funny.

And throws up a whole host of time travel complications as well. But mostly funny.

Probably one of the few films that everybody agrees is great. I've never met anyone who dislikes it! Fox is good and all but Crispin Glover stole the film for me.
