Bumped for Dano1999. And Sutty, it's not Renny Harlin directing, it's Jan De Bont.

I was avoiding checking out this thread for fear of it concerning some mental woodswoman like Nell-this sounds pretty cool-not sure about Jan De Bont though...I personally don't like any of his pictures...but so what,as long as it's not kid-friendly tripe like Twister I'm all for it...

Someone mentioned that Dennis Quaid might play Jonas Taylor earlier.  If you're excited about that idea, go see Jaws III, take a nap, come back here and type that again.

I thought the world could do with some MEG updates.

Apparantly the script is being tweaked, New Line are planning to green light it for a summer 2008 release, teaser posters like this one are appearing on the net and rumours such as it'll be Eric Bana's next film are flying!

Obviously rubbish about Eric Bana, they need someone older. If the masses don't want Dennis Quaid how about Bill Paxton?!

That MEG poster... Wow

I found a MEG tooth whilst I was in Australia, by the way. Bloody massive! Unfortunately, I didn't purchase it. $1900 isn't really pocket-change for me

 Bloomin' heck.

Who on earth named it 'Dunkleosteus' though?! That's just wrong.

With Primeval (giant Croc film coming soon with Dom Purcell), this and JP IV gearing up....then it looks like the next few years will be monster madness.

Now if only someone could make a decent Loch Ness film....not like the Ted Danson film.

And lets not forget Mcleans Rogue movie too. Another giant alligator pic which is supposed to be shaping up in to something special too.

Would love to see Meg made in to a movie though. Love sharks. And I think Bill Paxton would be a great lead. Let's hope they give De Bont the budget to back up the immense premise.

It's hard to get too enthusiastic about a movie that may never get made. They're talking about 2008 now aren't they?
Still, should be good, nearly at the end of the book now.

I'm trying to stay enthuiastic.....

What we need is another moral boost for Steve Alten himself. Actually emailed him yesterday ( copy of which is in the SA3 thread) so may he can tell us good news.

I refuse to read Primal Waters until Meg officially goes into production. I'm holding Alten hostage over that one!

Jessica, come to the SA3 thread. We're currently emailing Steve Alten for ideas on new Creature features as well as the director of RAPTOR, KOMMODO VS COBRA, CURSE OF KOMMODO, GARGOYLE, CHEERLEADER MASSACRE and ALAMBAMA JONES AND THE BUSTY CRUSADE.

If we get a post from him then hopefully, we'll one step closer to starring in monster movies and maybe even getting a sequel to Deep Rising! Also, we're trying to get Steve Alten to watch Shark Attack 3: Megaldon so he's aware of the do's and don't of making such a film.

To be truthful, I've never popped into the SA3 because I've never, ever seen ANY of the Shark Attack films. I don't want to be a hypocrite now, do I?

It's basically a Creature Features thread now. The last couple of pages have been about MEG. If you want, i'll sell you the Shark Attack Trilogy for a fiver!

I want to get this Creature Feature boxset that has them in so I need to shift my current set.

Interested? Anyone? Anyone?

It's a bloody bargain Jess, for crying out loud get your money out.
SA3 is worth all of that alone, as well as having the first 2 chucked in.
C'mon, you know you want to.

Too late, I've just PM'd Ti and told him I'll buy it off him.
I've already got 2 copies of SA3, I think I'll be the first person in the world to have 3 copies.
I reckon I deserve a reachround from the Barrowman for that.
