Technically not in the papers - but I've just got the new edition of Empire and the free item with the subscription this month is the first half of season 1 of Lost.

You haven't!  The Lavender Hill Mob is with Monday's paper. For 5.99 and ten tokens, you can get all of them posted to you.  They've started printing two tokens per newspaper.

The Guardian had an offer for a case for all your free DVDs on Saturday, although you need to collect 5 mast heads and send away to get it.

In the Times this Saturday is a copy of Fritz Lang's Metropolis. A must buy if you haven't already got it.

I shall be getting that methinks. I've always decided not to buy it (though I planned to rent it) as it looks like something I might not like.

As long as it isn't the dodgy 90min colourised version with the Queen soundtrack.

Isn't the soundtrack by Giorgio Moroder?

Can anyone confirm which version it is? I'm getting it anyway but I was just curious.

Just picked my copy of The Times up and it's the 118min version with the Gottfried Huppertz score. So it's not the most complete version available by any means, but it's decent enough for a freebie...

I didn't bother with it in the end. I can't stand The Times, and I wasn't really that mad about getting it. I'm glad I didn't if it's not the decent version.

Recieved my Guardian Free DVD Box yesterday, and it works brillantly. Truly originally, and looks nice on my bookshelf next to my books and DVDs.

Tomorrow in the 'News Of The World' is a free DVD with the 'Best Of Disney Pixar' on it.

Promised on the disc is a doc on Cars, and snippets of Toy Story, Finding Nemo and others.

I bought the Sunday Times earlier, butI'm not sure whether or not to watch Sympathy For The Devil, reading about it in the Culture supplement of the Sunday Times, it sounds like a pretentious load of old bollocks...

I could only manage 15 minutes of Sympathy For The Devil, its obviously meant for minds on a far higher mental frequency than a philistine like me

Just after seeing the ad and I could have swore that Richard Briers' dulcet tones said 'books', Indio?  Though mind you, I seen the ad on Irish tv so maybe it's different.  However, the Irish ads for the Times for the past two weeks have announced the same free DVDs as the ones on the English channels.

The books are in today (and tomorrows) Times, the dvd was in last weeks. I don't know why they've gone overboard for the Mr. Men all of a sudden though.
