At the end of the Doctor Who episode "Christmas Invasion" we find out that the army and PM know about the organisation TORCHWOOD.

I can't wait for this new series.

Pedantic I know... but it's TORCHWOOD.... not Tourchwood.

It's an anagram of Doctor Who....

When they started metionning Torchwood during TCI, I so badly wanted to see Cap'n Jack. I was hoping he'd be there, but alas he was not.

First pic

The eagerly anticipated Doctor Who spin-off from creator Russell T Davies.

John Barrowman stars as as Captain Jack whose team of investigators use alien technology to solve crimes, both alien and human.

There's been a few publicity shots released.

Bigger version of that one, involving the poor sidelined Owen who seems to be hovering above the ground :

Jack wearing a little too many layers:

Owen and Weevil:

Weevil:

He looks fun.

Id take a guess sometime between Life on Mars s2 and Doctor Who 3...

Looks promising, I really liked Jack's character, so I will watch, but it not something I higely anticipate.

21st of October according to some people, although that's not confirmed and there's a few other dates flying around.

I'd guess Life On Mars will be in the new year, simililar time to last years, so I think Torchwood will be sooner than that, I need to get a Sky dish quickly!!!

Is it me or does Weevil look like an alien Hannibal Lector?!?!

I'll certainly be watching...but that "Weevil" looks like something from Space Precinct.

I quite like that the third trailer is subtitled 'blood and snogging'.

First and second episodes showing back to back on the 22nd on BBC3 and repeated on BBC2 on the 25th, according to Radio Times. 9pm starts for both.

There's also a Torchwood version of 'Confidential'  too, but irritatingly they are only showing it after the 1.00am repeats

Reminded me of the Master from Buffy when I saw it.

Really looking forward to this series, it's meant to be the UK version of the X-Files (although I doubt it could never match!) Should be interesting to see how it all ties in with Doctor Who as I've heard they will intertwine somehow!

Hope the Radio Times website is reliable, I don't want to face your wrath if it turns out it's not on.

Looks like an interesting spin-off and hopefully quite a bit more violent and different to Doctor Who. Plus classic Cybermen means you really can't go wrong.

There was a bit about the press launch on BBC Wales earlier, nothing really new except for a short clip. Watch it on the website if you so wish. It's about 11 minutes in.

Oh, you'll be sorry!!!!  'cause, you know, it's embarrassing watching a grown man cry like a little girl just because he can't watch something on the telly...

I've started spreading the news now, there will be rioting in the streets if radio times has lied to us
