I've just finished the next Shane Maloney book Nice Try but I was a little disappointed in this one, it was no where near as good as the last two. I'm currently reading Memoirs of a Geshia in prep for the film and I'm really enjoying it so far! I almost spilt my jelly when I was reading it over lunch in uni today. How embarrassing he he.

Edit: wow if you don't check these messages properly you end up spelling like a fool!

Well I'm up to Chapter 16 now and although I'm liking it a lot more it still hasn't grabbed me. Although as I said earlier, the bit where Clevinger is up in front of the Action Borad (the bloated Colonol with big fat mustache, Lieutenant Scheisskopf and Major Metcalf) in Chapter 8 is fucking hilarious! One of the funniest things I've ever heard.

Oh, I agree that was a great scene, and there are loads of great scenes. It's just all the crap in between. As a book it's just a long, meandering mess which is very hard to read and goes nowhere. I realise this is sorta the point, but I felt I wanted more for the effort I put into it.

Im really interested in seeing Capote but couldnt find In Cold Blood so this will have to do!

Read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince again.
Going to make a start on Snobs by Julian Fellowes.

Breakfast at Tiffanys is lovely, I rather enjoyed it. Yeah Capote seems like an interesting film.

I'm reading The Shadow Of The Wind by, I think, Carlos Ruiz Zaf�n. It's really good so far, which I'm quite surprised at as I only got it cos it was part of a promotion.

That's spooky - just finished D_F myself. Not as good as the others, mind. Now on 'Close Range' by Annie Prolux - a collection of short stories that includes 'Brokeback Mountain'. Have just picked it up, so this could take a while... or not!;)

After being absorbed in Memoirs of a Geisha I'm back reading Shane Maloney. The fourth book is The Big Ask and after the slightly disappointing Nice Try this one is shaping up to be as witty and gripping as the original two!

My mate is trying (and I think succeeding in) getting me into to graphic novels so I'm currently reading Wanted by Mark Millar, and will then be moving onto V for Vendetta by Alan Moore.

Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, I've had it for ages and not read it, but I started it yesterday in determination to read it before seeing the film and I'm over halfway through already, and I don't want to stop reading it. It's an amazingly absorbing and fascinating book - cliched as it sounds I can't put it down.

I'm currently finishing off Shadow of the Wind (it went missing in action for a while!), a fantasy book by Kate Elliot called Child of Flame (4th in a series) and just started a travel book called The Full Montezuma by Peter Moore.

I was so disappointed with Breakfast at Tiffanys!
it was dull,unromantic and Holly Golightly was an incredibly unlikeable character!
Im still going to read more Capote though.Might as well give him another chance.
