Wasn't Brad Bird's first live-action film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol?

Here we are a decade after the incredibles and no sequel. I'm still waiting for A Bug's Life 2 as well! Before this comes out w will have had sequels to Cars, Monstes Inc & Finding Nemo. At least Pixar are realising some new projects as well: The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out (the one inside someone's mind)

As for Cars 3, debatably if kids will watch any old guff (like Cars 2 and Planes), why not just hand off to another division in Disney for them to bung out another sub-par effort. No-one will notice!

Seems a waste of 5 years of development time when Pixar could be making something you know...good.

Are Pixar now incapable of thinking of a new IP?

Even though I think Cars 3 & possibly Finding Dory are unnecessary I've been looking forward to Incredibles 2 for years especially with Brad Bird back. The original still stands up as one of the greatest superhero movies ever.

Jeez! Leave Cars alone! While they not be Oscar winning, cult classics that contain subtext about humanity and cultural references that appeal to a wider audience, they are harmless films that are fun and mildly entertaining. Even Planes, which was the same story with wings on it essentially, was harmless fun and my kids enjoyed it.

Yes, Incredibles 2 will be popularly received, but the snobbery around Cars is so predictable...

I re-watched The Incredibles recently and had forgotten how good it is. Sequels eh? They really are running out of steam. What happened to the one about the last two lizards alive, that don't like each other?

(I think) The Incredibles 2 well be pretty cool. I would be like Eff Yeah! if it was announced, made, and released 5-7 YEARS EARILER. now, I think Pixar is desperate to outclass Disney again (you know, Frozen). And that by the time its completed, It well be around 2017 or 2018. I'll only look a bit forward to it if Bard Bird both writes and directs it. As for Cars 3, However. Pixar is just going for another Cash Haul! First of all, John Lassiter, MOVE ON! Okay, Cars was good, but not one of their top teir films like all the films thay made prior. Cars 2 was horrible! Planes was like torture porn! And Planes 2? Lassiter. Are you becoming Katzenburg? "Ahem" Katzenburg in the mid 2000's? (When he said when 2D animation was dead and when Dreamworks released Shark Tale. a godawful film by the way. He went out of his comfort zone in the early 2010's. You know, How To Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda 2, All that good stuff. though he has since went back to his comfort zone in 2013). You just want money now, don't you? huh? HUH? you don't care if Brave or Monsters University is Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouile, WALL-E, Up, or Toy Story 3? You just care about the money John.
Oh, and to answer your question LSJShez. The movie you talking about is Newt. It was cancelled because Rio came before it. which had a similar plot. Which also, ironically, is getting a sequel!
