Both are going to gain great word-of-mouth over the weekend. Interstellar entered the imdb250 at 13 (taking that spot from inception).

I really hope both are going to get over 60m

That 50m is kind of a dissapointment for Interstellar... On the other hand, two movies opening over (or around) 50m is a pretty good result overall.

Same as Prometheus. But probably have less of a drop and more overseas/overall

Might do similar to Gravity overall WW

this week's numbers-

http://deadline.com/2014/11/dumb-and-dumber-to-friday-opening-day-box-office-1201285100/

decent opening for 'dumb', 'interstellar' and 'big hero' over the $100mil mark in US.

What a horrible suggestion. It's got nothing to do with threequelitis. It's a combination of split-final syndrome, no premium priced screens and because of that first also a mediocre movie.

Audience can wait a year until they can see a full movie. If this was a full mockingjay movie it would have broken Catching Fire's opening weekend easily.

The weekends are already starting to show great holds. Horrible Bosses 2 underperfomed on its opening weekend, but it's holding great, considering the reviews and its cinemascore.

But in all likeliness Into The Woods will end up with a bigger total domestic number.

With the overload of huge blockbusters this year it will be interesting to see who comes out as winners. Think there'll be some big surprises..

I think the winner will be Disney. In lieu of its own boss, i do think Brad Bird will end up being the loser if Tomorrowland's release date doesn't get shifted.

Biggest movie of the year will probably be Avengers2, with Star Wars being number 2. I feel like Jurassic World could surprise in quality but it probably won't be a game changer at the box office.

My main hope for this year is that Mad Max Fury Road is a big hit at the box office. I really want this to hit big and blow everyone away so we can have some more Mad Max movies. I also hope it's really, really good.

For me, the whole Mad Max thing depends on whether they go all out on the blood / violence thing or do a crappy PG-13 (US) or 12A (UK) thing...

I'm not saying that blood and gore = a great movie, but a full-on, gut-wrenching nasty action movie (like MM2) is just what we need from a MAX movie, not some watered-down shit to appeal to kiddies...

Did Mr Miller say something about NO CGI in this movie?

I'm almost certain it'll be PG13, they've spent well over 100 mil on it. Whilst i would prefer a rated R movie, my main concern is just that the movie be really good. Mad Max trilogy is pretty much my favourite trilogy and that includes Thunderdome. This new one looks like it'll be a bit more gritty than Thunderdome but it won't be like the first or second movie. I think you can have full on gut wrenching action without graphic violence. I think Miller said there wouldn't be CGI used for car stunts. Obviously when it comes to creating gigantic sandstorm tornados, CG is a must really.

In Miller i trust.
