Easily and undeniably Green Day's weakest (and most profane) album. It's like their last four albums never happened and they decided to make a (poor) follow up to Insomniac with almost all the same songs sounding the same but lacking the catchiness.

Aren't you guys almost fourty? Shouldn't you be leaving lyrics like "Someone kill the DJ, shoot the f**king DJ" (x3) ... "Shoot that f**ker down." to younger people we expect much less of?

Oh Love is easily the highlight and if I was to make a list of Top 100 Green Day songs it would be the only one that would be in consideration. I strongly suspect had they just released one album instead of this trilogy malarkey most of these songs would have been left on the cutting room floor. This is a huge step down from the lyrics of their previous two albums, which were showing they were getting better and better.

Here's hoping 2&3 are better but I'm expecting more less than stellar material.

2/5.

I also bought Madonna: The Complete Studio Albums, from which I ripped Everything from Madonna to Ray of Light and left the rest. Still worked out cheaper than buying just those seven on iTunes.

I'd love to see this. Followed by the Abba one we've been waiting years for.

Snap.

Enjoyed it quite a a bit on the first couple of listens. Not overly sure about the dubstep stuff but Supremacy. Madness and Big Freeze are good.

Still trying to figure out how to download images on this website, so gonna do it in good old-fashioned text...

The Sisters Of Mercy - First And Last And Always

Carter USM - Post Historic Monsters

Feline - Feline

Blaggers ITA - Bad Karma

Skunk Anansie - Black Traffic (fucking awesome, BTW)

And, yes, I'll agree that the Green Day album is pretty poor... and I've been fan since about '89...

Bought about thirty albums in Moscow, including Owen Pallett's absolutely wonderful Heartland.

Lost Songs - ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.

Haven't listened to it yet but the packaging's fucking beautiful - the 2 disc limited edition opens up into a 180 page ilustrated novel. Lovely.

The Hot Rats reissue is far and away the biggest improvement over the previous CD release compared the the other reissues. Highly recommended for everyone!

Since my previous posting I have bought the following:

You Are What You Is (1981)
The Man From Utopia (1982)
You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1 (1988)

As with the last Gaslight album, this one is definitely a grower. It sounds different from their other stuff but if you genuinely love their sound then you won't be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to meet the band in October. Brian Fallon is one of my heroes!
