 I gave it a listen earlier in the week (the SVIIB album that is, I still need to get the Lanegan one). Sad to say it's a massive step down from the previous two albums - a shame, because they appear to dumped all the shoegaze-related fun of the last two records and replaced it with fairly insipid new age-y stuff which they don't do very well. Sigh.

 Gonna give it a listen today but I'm a bit concerned by the lack of shoegazeyness. Perhaps the other twin had all the best tunes. We'll see...

 Phew, I'm happy to report that despite fearing the worst I'm currently loving Ghostory.
See what Olaf means about it being different to the first two records, but to me there's shoegazeyness in abundance - The Night , Love Play and Show Me Love have 4AD-circa-'91 written all over them and When You Sing couldn't be more Loveless if it had 50 guitar tracks and bankrupted their label.
Elsewhere, Scavenger reminds me of Disintegration-era The Cure, Lafaye's one of the best all-out pop songs they've ever written and White Wind is sinister and frankly mental.
My only slight citicism would perhaps be the length. Though I like all of them, 9 songs is a bit short and on the whole the sound is pretty dark and intense - a few uplifting tracks a'la My Cabal, Windstorm wouldn't have gone a miss.
Still, it's a minor quibble. Tour please?

 Debating whether it's worth buying these, as I've already bought the albums and most of the EPs twice over on record then CD (though Shields' claim that the new mix of When You Wake Your Still In A Dream is 'much louder' pricked up my ears). Has the collection of EPs got any unreleased stuff on?

 There is unreleased material on the EPs collection. I'll be picking that up at the weekend hopefully, undecided on the albums - considering that Shields's perfectionism in the mix is partly why it's so good in the first place, I'm not sure if it can be improved on enough to make it worthwhile. That said, my old copy has gone AWOL and no vinyl remaster seems to be forthcoming, so I might just go for the box set for the sake of completism.

 Just had a quick look at the tracklisting - aye I think I'll stick to the EP collection for now. Looks worth it for the un-eleased stuff and also the Feed Me With Your Kiss EP which I've never owned.
