Have you ever perused the casting of films, and thought how interesting, or bizarre it is?

For example, one look at the poster for American Hustle, and there's Batman (Bale), Faceman (Cooper), Hawkeye (Renner), Lois Lane (Adams), and Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) !!

Do you think there are films with casts which strike you as either peculiar, funny or interesting?

Batman and Wolverine fight over magic and Black Widow, whilst Alfred keeps on switching sides.

Poor Maya Hansen is caught in the middle.

The cast for The Monuments Men made me do a double take, not least because I would never have expected to see Hugh Bonneville in a film with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin and Bob Balaban.

The cast for Blade: trinity is pretty eclectic, with a few actors who are known mainly for comedy, a wrestler, some action guys and Kris Kristofferson

Almost all of Tarantino's film have great eclectic casts. He has to art to pick people you would never except for some type of role or use old forgotten actors to revive their career.

The Avengers had a great cast. Except for Cobie Smulders, who is just not a good actor in my opinion. Every other person was perfect for his role, I really admire Marvel's casting abilities. Same goes for The Dark Knight trilogy, tremendous casts.

Inception had a marvelous cast and so does Interstellar. Just the idea of a movie with all those people, will make me watch it. Nolan just has the luck that every actor/actress wants to be in a movie from him.

Wes Anderson assembles a great cast normally.
Just look at the one for Grand Hotel Budapest:
Saoirse Ronan
Léa Seydoux
Ralph Fiennes
Bill Murray
Tilda Swinton
Edward Norton
Jude Law
Owen Wilson
Willem Dafoe
Adrien Brody
Jeff Goldblum
Jason Schwartzman
Bob Balaban
Harvey Keitel
Tom Wilkinson

And probably you need to mention Robert Altman too as far as great casts go.
