I'll never get bored of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He's excellent in every one of these films so far - even the shit ones - and as long as he keeps that up, I'll be in line to see the next film with Wolverine in.

Yet another Wolverine and the Xmen movie, Jackman's hairdresser must be breaking out the hair conditioner as we speak.

Anyone else just getting a little bored with this version of Wolverine......oh and of course those X people he lets hang with him?

KIdding aside what is the situation with Marvel re-obtaining the rights? We could really use an X rest followed by a reboot.

That's exactly what I thought upon reading the news. It's not that I don't like Jackman as Wolverine - I think he's great, but this will be the 9th (count 'em - 9) outing as Wolverine which is not quite "flogging a dead horse" but it's getting darn close! If I could offer some advise to Mr Singer I'd say make this the last one and then to Fox - hand the rights back to Marvel please!

They need to do an R-rated Old Man Logan film with Mel Gibson as Wolverine. Now THAT would be all kinds of awesome!! If you haven't read it and like Wolverine - do yourself a favour!!

An X-Men film without any Hugh Jackman at all wouldn't be right.

Plus, I'd really rather Marvel didn't get the rights to X-Men back... they actually don't make sense co-existing with the rest of the Marvel universe, because you have people with superpowers - who for all people know could have gotten these powers from a mutation - being treated as heroes, and then you have them being persecuted for being different.

I'm with you! Even his 10 second cameo in First Class was brilliant! But other than that, every film he's in, Jackman is usually the best thing in it!

Yeah i say give someone else a shot at the role.I like Jackman, but its time they recast.

Anyone seen the '' unleashed '' version of The Wolverine? Is it any improvement?

I'm with you on that. It always seem stupid that you had the likes of Captain America (A scientific Mutation), Hulk (Another Scientific radiation induced mutation) and so on praised, yet Mutants persecutated. Much as I love Marvel, that always seemed completely stupid to me.

.... suggested watching The Wolverine on Lovefilm and he said "You know it'll just be him going "Aaarrrgghhhhh" for 90 minutes, right?"

Whats your point? You've read the comics etc haven't you? Pretty much anything with Wolverine in will consist of him going Aaarrggghhh for a length of time.

Not really, Captain America, Hulk and so on are victims of accident or putting themselves on the line for humanity.  Good Mutants.

X-Men and so on are, through no fault of their own, Bad Mutants a threat to humanity through genetic change.

But regular people wouldn't know that to be able to make the distinction. To them, they'd all just be mutants.

Point is.. still mutants. How do normal people know they weren't the result of accidents or government experiments? And if Normal people can be mutated, whats to stop other normal people being turned into them by the same means?

Exactly. I mean... Spidermans a mutant, the Fantastic Four are Mutants. Dare Devil is a mutant to a degree... etc. Its silly that you've got the speration between the treatment of Mutants and the mutates as in the end, they're all mutants.

Cheers, I'm a little Wolverined out just now, but I'll stick it on my Xmas list.

This is what's so sad I used to smuggle John Byrne X Men out of comic shops like they were porn and Wolverine was comfortably my favourite character. I'm fine with what Jackman has done with him (well most of it, not the height and pretty boy hair) but I'd like to see a fresh take a little closer to the little rough costumed guy from the comics.

I suppose it's just the historical happenstance of them being first published at Marvel (so everything Lee and Kirby were doing was tied together) and of course the series being made up on the fly. I read the first issue of X-Men a couple of years back and it simply reads like it was going to be a variant of the Fantastic Four - the overwhelming persecution theme emerged later. The fact that different Marvel comics were sold to different studios worked out in this case for the better.
