I just downloaded the app, and it said there was a free 30 day trial. So I subscribed as instructed, but it has already charged me. I'm confused, is the first 30 days free or not?

Hey Sean,

As far as I am aware it will show up as a purchase, but the no money will come out of your account until after 30 days if you do not cancel it.

If you have been charged prematurely, you will have to contact Apple customer services, as they collect and hold the money.

Thanks
Rob

If you didn't use to 30 days, you should contact the operator to ask.

Yea I had the same problem as Sean.

I opted for the 3 month subscription under the pretence that I had the first 30 days for free. I was charged within 48 hours.

I phoned the number provided by Rob Singh (01858 438806) and Bauer (is that correct?) told me that they were unable to do anything about it as it was purchased though the App Store. Not quite sure what that means.

Anyway I got in contact with Apple and they're processing me a refund which is weird because I think the magazine looks incredible on my Air. Just wanted me free trial before I committed myself to a full subscription. Guess thats how it works.

So yea that might need looking into Empire.

Rob, I contacted Apple, and they give me a refund.

However they said it was a problem with the app that caused the charge, and since others have had the same problem, you might want to get your app developers to take a look at the problem. I'm in Australia if that makes a difference.

As I read it, if I signed up for the annual subscription, I'd not be charged until after three months. Which is nice at the end of the Christmas season. But I got charged the next day. Crazy to talk about the App Store ... I made the subscription through the Empire app - which offers nothing BUT the subscription... Feels more than raw to me... It's the stuff of class action.
