I'm getting more & more doubtful of Abrams.

I want Star Wars to keep improving, not go backwards. But it seems Abrams wants to go backwards.

This is assuming (incorrectly in my opinion) that a backwards step wouldn't be an improvement for the series. The prequels, again in my opinion, failed on multiple counts:

1. Poor acting from pretty much everyone with the exception of Ian McDairmid & perhaps Natalie Portman.
2. Dreadful writing. Case in point, throughout three films McDairmid only had one great scene (at the theatre in ROTS) and Portman's character was insanely annoying
3. Over reliance on CGI. Everything felt fake and lifeless. All three films felt more like a tech demo than films.

You can of course add to that poor editing, direction etc etc. If they spend time casting good actors, using a mixture of practical effects and CGI, great locations and strong writing then it'll be a major plus for the films. Essentially the prequels are a good idea of what not to do. I enjoyed the light-sabre fights, but everything else drove me mad.

I wish that too, the movie needs a good director now

BTW Leeroy...

I also want to see minatures being used again and proper outdoor sets. CGI should be used for Space battles and nothing more. Build the bloody cities (even in minature). They look better that way.

And you were also bang on that everyone wanted to be Han Solo!

BTW I got criticised for saying a while ago that the original Star Wars movie was a kids movie. I was a kid and I loved it. I reckon it was aimed at kids between 8-15 or am I wrong?
