This franchise went extinct so long ago the last person to enjoy it is currently on display in the natural history museum.

A billion dollars coming from a couple of years ago disprove.

And yes, a billion dollars does show somebody liked it, otherwise it would have gone The Hangover III route of making some 200-300 million less then the previous sequel.

In this instance I was using things called metaphor and exaggeration to make a point about the 'extinction' of anything enjoyable or of merit in this franchise (in the sense that if it was ever there, it is long gone now), which has nothing to do with money. A dinosaur museum can make millions off it's visitor fees and gift shop, but that doesn't make the dinosaurs any less extinct.

Disguising yourself as an extinct animal. Not the best way to blend in, really...
