I'm sure by now we've all read or heard of The Pixar Theory which hypothesizes that the Pixar movies are all set within the same universe.

I don't think the author takes the theory too seriously as he's merely reading into Pixar's habit of putting in Easter Eggs, and I seriously doubt Pixar planned it this one universe in any way, nonetheless it's an interesting theory and quite surprising how it actually does appear somewhat believable. The blog itself has now over 70 pages of comments (which I haven't read) so I thought it might be worthwhile posting it here to see what people have to say if they care at all.

I don't believe for one minute that Pixar designed their films to play out that way, but it's a marvellous read nonetheless.

Thinking like this is dangerous and leads only to misery (e.g., Alien vs. Predator).

I think there are definitely Pixar stories I would possibly be curious to see cross over but I'm not absolutely dying to see Mike Waszowski and Wall-E on screen together and I know (and am glad) that Pixar would never actually do anything like that.

I think the best and saddest part of the theory for me is Boo supposed life consuming quest to find Sully, as if that story wasn't heartbreaking enough.

They are made by the same people, so the people involved put little references in to other movies they have made, for fun!. thats it!! that is it!!.
Fun but annoying, and I kind of want my 20mins back!

RUBBISH!

I usually like these type of shared universe theories, but this one starts with the author's own far out conjecture in the first paragraph and goes on inventing it's own rules from then on.

What about the 'Bugs Life' toys in Al's Toy Barn in Toy Story 2?

I always thought that the mother of the little girl in Toy Story 3 looked a bit like a grown-up Boo. Which would be nice.
This guys' theory is a bit out there, though.
