How about Daniel Day-Lewis as a Rank Outside Suggestion? - 12/7/2013 4:04:01 PM

I know there is no chance of that happening (but strange things have happened, i.e Kenneth Branagh directing Thor), but if Daniel Day-Lewis played Dr. Strange (I know that's not going to happen!) that would be awesome particularly the stirring performances he gives (There Will Be Blood, My Left Foot, Gangs of New York, Lincoln, etc).

I would pay mad money to see Irrfan Khan as Doctor Strange. He'd rock the silken cape without trouble and he'd inject a dose of colour to the Marvel U. And the bombastic dialogue of the Sorcerer Supreme would be like honey in his tones.

Benedict Cumberbatch. Never been a better piece of casting.

The Viggs or Jim Caviezel. You can't have someone who looks too clean cut. Older but not too old; definitely not fresh-faced like Patrick Dempsey. And I don't think Adrien Brody is right physically for the part.

Noah Wyle - he is the right age, build, height and he has played a doctor.

I like the idea of John Cusack. What about Gabriel Byrne, as you are looking for a mature lead ?

...would not be a bad choice. Was gonna vote for Brody, but just looking at Gillen's face sold me.

Matt Bomer would be ideal for this role, up and coming, no baggage with the guy, could even pull off the facial hair that normally comes with Doctor Strange. he was the best part of IN TIME.

I'm with good ole Rufus all the way. He could bring dignity and mystery to the character of Doctor Strange. And those sad eyes of his... perfect!

Brody CAN beef up, he's done it before for a movie, AND he has the acting chops for it. But for some reason I feel Fehr would be surprisingly great and fit in well, as well as already having the physique for it. Aiden Gillen and Matthew MacFayden are also interesting choices and could probably be good too.

I genuinely think James Marsters would be great in this role, not sure how he'd look with the goatee though.

What about Josh Brolin?

I know he had a stinker with the Hex debacle, but this is a chance for redemption.

Cumberbatch...end of. Doc Strange frequently butts heads with Loki, seeing him and Hiddlestone going at it would be a joy!

I always had Guy Pearce in mind for Strange and think he would be terrific. Sadly Iron Man 3 has likely put paid to that possibility.
