I read the books and this like WWZ, only takes the title (sort of) however this looks terrible. Seriously terrible.

I LOVE Jeff Bridges...

And I'm no real fan of dragon movies...

But as a medieval allegory for another time under Catholic rule...

This looks epic. How does he keep doing it? The man is a legend. And so it the director of this movie, by all accounts of the trailer. That was WILD!!!! (Respect to all crew members too).

I believe the release was recently pushed back from October 25th to January due to the FX house having financial issues.

Have to ask what the heck is going on?
I knew they were going to fiddle with the story when they cast Julianne Moore as Mother Malkin. No way did she fit that character...
Looks ok in a fantasy kind of way but why bother saying 'inspired by' when all you did was steal the characters and then do some CGI gumph with nothing like the story arc that is in the very excellent series by Joseph Delaney.
This kind of 'adaptation' explains exactly why David Gemmell always refused to licence his stories...

Just don't understand the idea of annoying a fan base by taking such an action. A film sells on word of mouth and does not rely on the original readers IF it is good enough. This series IS good enough so why they messed with it I do not know...

I haven't read the books, but I feel offended for those who have.
