I say Empire should do a cover for each dwarf. I'd love an Empire issue with Bofur on the cover.

A bit early for The Hobbit 2 but this is a beautiful cover. It's nice to have 3 characters on the cover, instead of a single person :-)

Looks lovely. Hopefully I'll actually get my subscribers issue this month too. Still waiting on my Wolverine issue

The Hobbit 2 cover is ok. But I am going to nitpick here. Two of the three characters on this cover don't even appear in the book. While I don't mind a short appearance of Legolas, the designers of the cover could have at least put his father in the middle as he has an important and bigger role in the book.

@Kiki81 Ah but come on. Those characters might not be in the book but this isn't about the book, it's about the movie and they are in that. What should they do, just ignore their existence? It's a great cover.

Oh, and I'd love dwarf covers too. It'd be Kili or Bofur for me, I think :)

Sorry, had to nitpick ;)
I wish they would rather highlight other characters that appear both in book and film and not made up characters. I love Legolas' father in the books
and not sure why Legolas has been given a role in the film (although we will find out soon enough).

Defo agree with you on the dwarfs! I would love to see Fili and Kili on the cover.

So disappointed was I by The Hobbit that unfortunately this is the first cover of the year that I'm not excited by! :-/
I would much rather a Cate Blanchett feature cover… but saying that I think she should regularly feature on the cover! :)

This looks great, and I am definitely looking forward to more adventures with Jackson, Bilbo, Thorin, Gandalf and the gang. Smaug looks legendarily epic!

Who cares if Legolas & Tauriel are not in the book, Peter used material from the Appendices to include Legolas (so it still works) & maybe the film needs someone like Tauriel. Films based on books never work out if it's 100% book material. Peter has a good reason for everything he does, don't write Tauriel or the film off yet. Can't wait to get my hands on this issue! The cover is EPIC!!

The subscribers cover is stunning. I'm going to subscribe for the covers alone, 'The Wolverine' cover was equally impressive. Keep it up with the sharp graphic work.
