After recently watching Iron man 3 which is great by the way, espically the scean where The Mandarin is watching Liverpool v Chelsea, Can you you think of any other movies which has got a actuall football game, Camoe spliced in to the film.

They only other one I can think of is Scotland V Holland ( 1978 world cup finals0 where Archi Gemmel scores for Scotland.
in Trainspotting

please help me find some more examples..

by the way for all you yanks out there I'm talking about Soccer.. lol

The Arsenal Stadium Mystery features Arsenal's last match of the season before WWII (vs Brentford) and the film also has some players popping in and out, plus manager George Allison.

And you can tell it was written by yanks as the guy's sitting there watching it and saying "kick it! kick it!" I mean, who the fuck has ever said that, what else would the player be doing? It would be like watching tennis and saying "hit it! hit it!"

Obviously also Fever Pitch.

A film I can only write the name of as my other half refuses to even discuss it, let alone watch it.

Escape to Victory!!

There's a scene in Hannibal where one of the Italian policemen is watching a footie match on TV. (Aston Villa against someone funnily enough).

Good call. I can remeber watching the Liverpool v Arsenal match. it was on a Friday Night, and was the very last game of the sesson,
Micheal Thomas scored the winner for Aresanl in Injury time to win tol 1st Divison championship, ( this was 2 years prior to the Premiership for all you youngsters out there).

Funnilly Enough Micheal Thomas signed for Liverpool a couple of years later.

Aye, the memory of his team missing out on winning the League once must be heartbreaking and I doubt those paltry 18 titles, 8 League Cups, 7 FA Cups, 5 European Cups and 3 UEFA Cups comes even close to taking the edge off.

The bit where one of them toasts Manchester Utd (ie the only club most americans have heard of) is cringeworthy too. Though the fact that the character didn't have a manc accent was spot on

Worst footie movie ever? 'When Saturday Comes'.

In which a man in his late thirties is picked up for Sheffield United (I think), right from Sunday afternoon pub-games, goes out onto the pitch in his FIRST game and scores a hat-trick against Manchester United.

Mind you, I seem to recall it was directed by an American woman... figures.
