Ive really gotten into the thriller genre..the problem is that I've seen a lot of the suggested ones on imdb like shutter island, the machinist, silence of the lambs, identity, seven, memento..etc, i really like physiological thrillers and was wondering if there are any great thrillers that are under rated that I might have not heard of?

Thanks

The obvious master of the genre is Hitchcock, so absolutely anything by him is worth a watch, personal favourites are Psycho, Rear Window, North by Northwest, Rope and Vertigo.

Both versions of Insomnia (although Skarsgard's performance in the original is a much more amoral and sleazy than Pacino's in the Nolan remake and worth watching for that alone)

The Warchovski's Hollywood calling card Bound is a fantastic thriller.

Have you seen the film of James Herbert's Fluke? that's great and very underrated film.

I'd also recommend any of Argento's classic Giallos, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Deep Red, Four Flies on Grey Velvet, Cat o Nine Tails and Sleepless.

David Lynch's Mulloholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Lost Highway if you fancy a bit of mind bending.

Classic's like the French Connection, The Parrallax View, Play Misty For Me and Last Flight of the Condor.

Then a few of European films you may not of heard of, Harry, He's Here to Help, Next Door, Tesis, Timecrimes, The Nameless.

(there's a few to be getting on with, you'll have to let me know what you think)

The Day Of The Jackal. One of the absolute best. If you haven't seen it, do so now.

Try Session 9 or Transiberrian, same director as the Machinist.

The Game is another great film from Fincher. Not up to par with his other films, but it's great nonetheless.

I would also give a +1 to what Discodez said about Insomnia, as well as the Lynch and Hitchcock films.
