So my family has just acquired a 55" (139cm) widescreen TV; a virtual home cinema screen. I'm rubbing my hands with glee at the thought of the movies I am very likely to be viewing in the near future, using this great marvel, though I thought I'd let you guys give me some more suggestions as to what movies I can add.

The movies I already own are:

Jaws
The LOTR trilogy
Lawrence of Arabia
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Twister
Armageddon
Ben-Hur
Complete Harry Potter collection
Cliffhanger
Jurassic Park
King Kong
Superman
Superman Returns
Batman Begins
Iron Man
The Avengers
Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3
Ghostbusters

So, fellow movie buffs, what films might I add to this wonderful little home cinema?

I'd add the Back to the Future trilogy. Although it'd be on my list, home cinema or not.

How about Inception for the rotating corridor alone?

+ 1 for the BttF trilogy. I bought it before Christmas and it looks lovely on Blu-ray.

Just to clarify, you are talking about Blu Ray rather than DVD? This is probably a daft question!

The scale of the hotel really comes to life on a big screen. Scare the pants off ya all over again.

Wacky thought, but films you like?

I find it odd that you've just bought yourself a 55" tv & you only own 30 films...

Or is this just a 'Look at me everyone! I've got a 55" tv!' thread?

Eraserhead. Think of the atmosphere that'll be created.
Most anything from Hitchcock's colour period but primarily Rear Window.
Citizen Kane. There's always something new to see esecially at that size.
Apocalypse Now. Do I need a reason?
There will be Blood. EPIC!
Not Shame, never Shame at that size!
8 1/2.
