No, we just do a straight vote to win.

Anyway, the oddity. Not one of the Academy acting winners for the year made our votes. The only one who even came close was Dujardin and he was in seventh place.

Bejo got a baffling nom and the wrong support from TTSS is in there?

Bejo only got in at the very last minute. I shouldn't have counted Rhubarb's votes. Before that she was missing out because one or two people nominated her as lead. If she hadn't made it, the fifth slot was going to Cate Blanchett for Hanna

Dear god why?!?

I've changed my mind on her ability to act - she was pretty decent in Populaire. But she just didn't impress me that much in a pretty thankless role.

Not seen a single film in the original screenplay category. Doubt I will before the votes are due either.

I wasn't sure which category to put Bejo in actually, though because I struggled with Supporting Actress (you could probably tell), I stuck her there.

The thing about the award winners not coming up, that is interesting (its at least partly because I nominated Jean Dujarjin isn't it? Sorry Jean ) but I guess only the two male actors stood a chance really. Kinda surprised Plummer not nominated though.

I can dig out the DVD and send copies to anyone who'll vote for Of Gods and Men and turn away from the shallow joys of Drive #desperatepromotionalactivity

I gave it quite a few technical nods, which I think it deserved. And I kind of like parts of the soundtrack.

Cumberbatch was a late cut from my list for Support - I had both Strong and Firth above him from TTSS though.

You should try and watch at least two of them, just so you can vote for one over the other.

Yeah, I was expecting Jean to walk it into the list, and I think he probably was deserving of a nomination at least. It's just such a packed year. Not as tight as supporting actor was though. Alan Rickman missed out on getting into the tie by just one point and Eddie Marsan was just two points behind him.

How can you criticise taste given certain Board members - pointing no elbows - will be voting with their libido?

Are you sure you're not just getting confused again and thinking because it's French it must be good? Like you do with Amelie?

Oh god choosing between Melancholia and Tree of Life for cinematography is going to kill me as well

The Skin I Live In not getting in for Best Foreign saddens me as well

How crushed are you going to be by the inevitable Fellowship sweep?

The Skin I Live in got enough votes in foreign language to be the highest placed film in the category. It's a shame it wasn't actually ever eligible in that category.

I am surprised that Dujardin didn't make the Best Actor list. And I really should have pimped out Brendan Gleeson for The Guard.

Votes to be sent in the next 20 minutes or so.

Everyone should still find Amigo and see it. See, what should have happened, is that on at least one category you should all have agreed to 1-4, all had different films for your bottom film and I'd have gotten Amigo in by it being 1 on my list. Curses - another foiled plan.

Awwwm, crapadoodle, I forgot - can I still vote for the final round?

Rango is the bees' knees. Tis awesome.

I can barely remember Of Gods and Men - I think I liked it though.

Brooks - ace
Cumberbatch - very good.
Bejo - charming.
Clooney - decent.
Gosling - very good.
Gary Oldman - INCREDIBLE.

Nice to see a lot of love for Submarine.
